The Champions League round of 16 has been set.
Manchester City are the big name to miss out, as they put in one of their worst ever performances under Pep Guardiola during a poor evening at the Bernabeu.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa were straight into the round of 16 thanks to their finish in the top eight of the group phase. And they have now discovered their position in the bracket.
AC Milan have also missed out on the round of 16 after they were stunned by Feyenoord, while Brest’s dream run into the knockouts was hit by huge slab of reality against PSG as they lost 10-0 on aggregate.
And all the team’s path to the final has become clear.
The round of 16 draw takes place on Friday (February 21) under this new format, the draw places teams into a position in the bracket to create a fixture, rather than the traditional method of drawing one team against another.
From there each team will know their route to the final, which will be held in Munich at the Allianz Arena on May 31.
