Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez commits ‘worse miss of all time’ that was ‘simpler to attain’
Liverpool fans were left furious at Darwin Nunez who produced one of the worst Premier League misses in history after Arne Slot’s side drew 2-2 with Aston Villa
Liverpool star Darwin Nunez produced one of the worst misses in Premier League in history on Wednesday evening.
The Reds salvaged a draw against Aston Villa in the Midlands as they dropped more points in the Premier League title race.
However, they had the chance to steal all three points when Dominik Szoboszlai squared the ball to Nunez, who managed to scoop the ball over the crossbar.
“Gets worse every time I watch it,” one fan fumed. While a second admitted: “Possibly the worst miss I’ve ever seen…”
“Darwin Nunez may be the worst striker I’ve ever seen man. He’s Genuinely awful another open goal miss,” a third shared. And another added: “That was an empty net and way easier to score!”
“We’ve played a few games now, with Plymouth, with Wolves, with Everton, where the game was not open at all, and that sometimes doesn’t benefit us,” Arne Slot told TNT Sports after the game.
“So you have to play the game as it unfolds., and today we played a team that wanted to play the ball out from the back.
“So we had some very good moments, scored the first goal from a good pressing moment, but we took it the way the game went, and they came back in the final minute (when Donyell Malen shot wide).
“But if you look at the chances we had in the second half to go in front, you can understand there’s one person in the dressing room that feels quite down, and you know who it is I think.”

Van Dijk then appeared to reference Nunez’s miss by adding: “We should have scored 3-2, but credit to Aston Villa, they made it very difficult.
“We have a very tough one on the weekend again, then we play Newcastle, our focus now will be on Man City, a very difficult game, we know that. Do everything in your power to win games, the focus will be that on Sunday again.”
