Woman who claims to be Madeleine McCann drops new bombshell DNA take a look at outcomes
Julia Wandelt went viral in 2023 when she made bombshell claims that she was missing toddler Maddie McCann – she later apologised, but has now doubled down on the claims
A woman claiming to be missing Madeleine McCann has claimed new DNA results are a “perfect match” to those taken from the hotel where the British toddler vanished.
Julia Wandelt, 23, insists the genetic evidence “strongly supports” that Gerry McCann could be her biological father. She claims a “source” analysed “hair and saliva” taken from the floor and quilt at the crime scene in Praia da Luz, Portugal, where missing Maddie was last seen in 2007.
The McCanns have “refused” to participate in the tests, but Julia claimed on social media that there was a 69.23% match to her DNA.
An unnamed ‘world expert’ is reported to have said: “The genetic evidence strongly supports that (Gerry) McCann could be Julia Wandelt’s biological father, as the data aligns perfectly with a parent-child relationship.
“If this analysis is accurate and properly derived from their DNA samples, the relationship between McCann and Julia Wandelt is biologically consistent with that of a father and daughter.”
Maddie was three when she vanished without trace in 2007 while on holiday with her parents Gerry and Kate, who were soon made prime suspects by Portuguese police.
Her disappearance has stumped sleuths for almost two decades and every potential lead has hit a brick wall.
Polish national Julia hit global headlines in 2023 after she claimed on social media that she was missing Maddie.
She took several DNA tests trying to prove she is Madeleine and even appeared on US talk show Dr Phil to discuss the possibility.
In a U-turn, she later apologised and said she “regretted” making the startling claims, but she posted her new claims on Instagram last week.
In her numerous posts, she said the first part of the DNA results had proven her to be ‘part British and part Irish’, and not 100% Polish.
Her spokesman Surjit Singh Clair said she wants her both her Polish parents and the McCanns to take a DNA test, but they have repeatedly refused to do so.
He said: “They have spent £20million on this investigation and now won’t spend £60 on a DNA test, even though she offered to pay for it.”
