Starry-eyed Charles! King mingles with celebrities at Buckingham Palace reception for humanitarian efforts
King Charles appeared upbeat this afternoon as he greeted ex-Hear’say singer Myleene Klass at a Buckingham Palace reception.
The monarch, 76, held the reception to recognise the humanitarian efforts of a number of people, including His Dark Materials actress Ruth Wilson and presenter Fern Britton.
He grinned as he shook hands with a number of attendees, who had demonstrated exceptional efforts to humanitarian causes across the globe.
The King also stopped for a moment to speak to comedian Liz Carr, who appeared deep in conversation with the monarch.
Charles wore a navy pinstripe suit for the occasion, which he paired with a classic white dress shirt and a blue and white silk tie.
Queen Camilla was also in attendance at the gathering, after spending her morning with the Asian Women’s Resource Centre as it marked 45 years of helping victims of domestic violence, forced marriage and honour-based violence.
Her Majesty had changed into a royal blue gown for the reception, which she accessorised with two silver brooches on each side of her collar.
It comes on a busy week of engagements for the royals, after Charles yesterday stepped out in a dapper grey suit to visit Imperial College in London.

The monarch wrapped up in a long navy jacket to brace the cold while making a surprise visit to the Injury Studies Centre at the university on Wednesday.
The King sported a sophisticated long black double breasted coat with a neat white pocket square.
Once inside the Injury Centre, the monarch slipped out of his outwear, revealing a lightly checkered grey suit and crisp white shirt.
He playfully paired the stylish suit with a turquoise tie with what appeared to be little castles printed on the front. Known for his sprawling collection of motif-printed ties, Charles has previously worn everything from dinosaurs to zebras, owls and cats, around his neck.
Charles’s arrival came just days before the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine – with the aim of the visit to highlight the UK’s support to all the injured service personnel in the country.
