Luke Littler ‘would fairly watch paint dry’ than take darts fan’s recommendation
Luke Littler had a brutal comeback to a fan following his first round exit in Premier League darts after the world champion was offered some unsolicited advice
Luke Littler has said he’d rather watch paint dry than turn out to Pro Tour events.
Littler, 18, crashed out against Gerwyn Price in the first round of Premier League darts on Thursday evening in Dublin. Littler, who averaged 102.64, cut a frustrated figure and threw his darts case to the ground as he left the stage.
“Not the way I wanted to follow up the win last week,” Littler told his two million Instagram followers shortly after. “But loads more darts to play starting with premier league and uk open next week. Appreciate everyone who came out to support tonight.”
And one cheeky fan responded: “Need to start attending the pro tours for more practice.”
And Littler hit back at the hit with an annoyed response: “Rather watch paint dry.”
The PDC Pro Tour events are untelevised and run annually from February to October. Littler has skipped a number of the events this year as he balances his packed schedule.
Price would go onto win the evening in Dublin, dispatching a resilient Nathan Aspinall in the final. “I want to be a tough nut to crack for everyone, that is what I used to be,” Price said.
“That is where I was two or three years ago and I’ve maybe slipped off the radar a little bit but I am coming back.
“My game is in a great place and my mind is in a good place.”
The Premier League swings back into action next week as the festival rocks up to the Westpoint Arena in Exeter.
However, some eyes might already be on the following day as the UK Open starts, which will dominate the darting action over the weekend.
