A missing 23-year-old’s car has been found abandoned in a remote layby, as the search for her enters its third day.
Jenny Hall, from Tow Law in County Durham, was last seen leaving her home in Barracks Farm on Tuesday at around 3pm. Police believe she was headed to the Barnard Castle area.
Her red Ford Focus has now been found parked on the B6278 between Eggleston and Stanhope.
Jenny, described as white and 6ft tall with long dark hair, was last spotted wearing a John Deere blue hoodie and dark jogging bottoms.
Among those aiding in the search are Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team from North Yorkshire.
Durham Police are also being supported by Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue Team, Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team, North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team.
Ch Insp Dean Haythornthwaite, of Durham Police, said: ‘We are focusing our search on areas we know Ms Hall likes to run through and we are determined to do everything we can to find her.’

Both police search teams and mountain rescue search teams search the area
The force said searches were concentrating on routes between Eggleston and Hamsterley after searching moorland for the previous two days.
Digital intelligence officers have conducted extensive inquiries into her mobile phone, smart watch and running apps, but none have yielded any results, the force said.
Her family has also said she may have been carrying a green jacket with her.
Anyone who sees Jenny has been urged to tell police on 999.
A Durham Constabulary spokesperson said: ‘Have you seen Jenny?
‘Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for the 23-year-old who was reported missing just after 9pm.
‘She was last seen leaving her home in Barracks Farm, Tow Law, in her red Ford Focus just after 3pm.
‘Jenny is described as white, 6ft tall and has very long dark hair. She was last seen wearing a blue hoodie with a John Deere logo and dark jogging bottoms.
‘It is thought Jenny might have headed to the Barnard Castle area.
‘If you have any information or have seen Jenny, call 999.’
