Donald Trump’s chief brown-noser Elon Musk is being branded the “ultimate d**k boss” after ordering federal employees to justify their pay packets.

US Senator Tina Smith blasted the Tesla billionaire after he ordered thousands of government pen-pushers to list what they got up to at work in the last week – or face the sack. Minnesota Democrat Smith raged on Musk’s X platform: “This is the ultimate d**k boss move from Musk. Except he isn’t even the boss, he’s just a d**k.”

Musk – appointed as Orange Manbaby Trump’s cost-cutter – trolled the politician by messaging back: “What did you get done last week?”

Smith replied with: “I hate to break it to you but you aren’t my boss. I answer to the people of Minnesota.

“But since you bring it up, I spent last week fighting to stop tax breaks for billionaires like you, paid for by defunding health care for moms and babies.”

Musk’s factory floor-style clocking in job justification demand meant federal employees were hit with an email stating: “Please reply to this email with approx. [five] bullets of what you accomplished last week and cc your manager.”

The demand has plunged Trump’s administration into chaos.

Key US agencies including the FBI, State Department and the Pentagon are instructing their staff not to bother answering Musk’s order.

Newly confirmed FBI Director Kash Patel – a fierce Trump ally – was among those instructing employees to ignore Musk’s request for now.

He said: “The FBI, through the Office of the Director, is in charge of all of our review processes, and will conduct reviews in accordance with FBI procedures.

“When and if further information is required, we will coordinate the responses. For now, please pause any responses.”

Lawmakers are also arguing Musk’s demand was illegal and unions threatened to sue – while demanding Trump’s administration take back the request.

But Trump, 78, poked fun at federal workers in a meme on social media.

The post featured a cartoon character writing a list of accomplishments from the previous week led by: “Cried about Trump”, “Cried about Elon”, “Made it into the office for once” and “Read some emails.”

Musk, 53, has stated his demand was a “very basic pulse check” necessary to prevent “outright fraud”.

The dad-of-12 said: “The reason this matters is that a significant number of people who are supposed to be working for the government are doing so little work that they are not checking their email at all!

“In some cases, we believe non-existent people or the identities of dead people are being used to collect paychecks.”

In a separate message on X, Musk warned any employee who failed to respond by the deadline – set in the email as 11.59pm EST Monday would lose their job.
