Three teenage ladies, aged 14, 16 and 17, charged over dying of aged man, 75, who was ‘attacked exterior High Street financial institution’

Three teenage girls have been charged with manslaughter after an elderly man died following an attack outside a bank on a London high street.

The teenagers, aged 14, 16, and 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were charged after Fredi Reviro was found injured at the scene on Seven Sisters Road in Islington, north London, on Thursday evening.

Officers provided first aid at the scene before paramedics arrived to rush the 75-year-old to hospital, where he died on Friday.

His family continue to be supported by specialist officers, and a special post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

The teens, who were initially arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily prior to Mr Reviro’s death, are set to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Pictures from the scene on Friday morning showed a large cordon had been set up around a Nationwide bank on Seven Sisters Road, near the junction with Holloway Road.

A supermarket stock trolley, several tied up shopping bags and other debris could be seen on the pavement.

A separate cordon was also set up near the Moonlight Supermarket on Holloway Road.

Speaking after the investigation was launched on Friday, Superintendent Annmarie Cowley, one of the senior officers responsible for policing Islington, said: ‘I know this death will cause shock and very real concern in Holloway and the wider Islington area.

‘I share those concerns, and I want to assure local people that a thorough police investigation is under way.

‘There are additional police patrols in the local area. I urge local people to speak with these officers if you have any information or any concerns.

‘The officers are there to support you, and they will be in and around Holloway throughout the weekend.’
