A woman was seen dripping in blood while “hysterically” screaming “they killed my dog“, after a teen was killed in an XL bully attack.

Morgan Dorsett, a 19-year-old from Shropshire, died on Wednesday after being attacked by a dog at a house on Cobhorn Drive, Bristol. Emergency services arrived on the scene quickly but could not save her. It has been revealed that she had only moved into the home three weeks prior to the incident. The male hip-height canine, responsible for the attack, was seized and put down.

Eyewitnesses described the distressed pet owner appeared drenched in blood, crying out “They killed my dog.”

Prior to the tragic incident, the woman had assured neighbours her dog was certified “with papers”, claiming it wasn’t great around men but utterly harmless with kids and women.

An unnamed resident shared their initial encounter with the woman, saying: “We only got speaking because the day she moved in. She came over and said she had an XL bully, he’s got his papers and everything and that’s all that was said,” reports Birmingham Live.

The neighbour stated that it had been a quiet ordinary night on the evening of the attack: “It came to 7.26pm. [The dog owner] came out of her front door. Police turned up literally at the same time – police, ambulance, paramedics, undercover and other police cars turned up.”

She said that the owner was left utterly heartbroken, sitting on the ground outside, clearly distraught by the harrowing events.

Concerns arose about the owner’s wellbeing as the neighbour noted, “She had blood on her. I don’t know if she was injured, trying to stop the dog from doing the attack.

“She had it on her front. It was more than a little bit (of blood).”

Stressing the animal’s peaceful nature during previous encounters, the neighbour said: “Every time she brought the dog out, the dog didn’t jump up, it wasn’t barking, it didn’t seem vicious.

“She did mention the dog wasn’t great with men, but children and women it was absolutely fine.”

In an update on Friday, Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that the dog involved in the attack has been euthanised. The statement clarified the current status of the investigation: “Work to confirm the type of the dog involved continues. It has been put down. A man and a woman, both aged in their 20s, who were arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death and possession of a prohibited breed of dog on Wednesday, have since been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.
