I used to be sat with Maura Higgins and Danny Jones on the star-studded BRITs Afterparty – and that is what I noticed earlier than that shock kiss

MailOnline can reveal that Maura Higgins and Danny Jones spent the BRITs Afterparty looking very cosy for several hours before that shock kiss at the bash.

On Saturday, the former Love Island bombshell, 34, was seen sharing a ‘drunken kiss’ on the lips with McFly’s Danny, 38, in footage obtained by The Sun. 

Maura and Danny – who has been married to his wife Georgia for over a decade and shares seven-year-old son Cooper together – attended Universal Music’s star-studded bash at 180 Strand.

I was also lucky enough to receive an invite to the A-lister event and as I walked in and picked up a drink from the bar, I bumped into Maura’s former flame Pete Wicks making a swift exit along with pal Olivia Attwood. 

Pete seemed happier than ever though as he stopped for a photo and a quick chat, telling me he was getting an early night as he and Olivia had their first KISS Radio show the next morning. 

Making my way further into the venue, I joined the star-studded crowd on the dance floor boogieing in the VIP area alongside the likes of Lucien Laviscount, Sam Ryder, Frank Lampard and Jedward. 

Taking a break from dancing in the very early hours of the morning, I took a seat at the end of a booth which was where Maura was just kick-starting her night as she sipped on a glass of champagne while sat with Danny and another female. 

Maura and Danny remained in the booth together for most of the night laughing and chatting away before I’m A Celeb co-star Oti Mabuse joined them for a catch up and to pose for a photo. 

The trio seemed happier than ever as Maura rested her head on Danny’s shoulder while a pal snapped a picture of them. 

Oti later circled the room, leaving Maura and Danny to put on a cosy display whispering between themselves. 

The McFly singer later walked the room briefly with bandmate Tom Fletcher, but returned back to where stunner Maura was sat. 

Around 2:30am, other friends and people gathered around the booth which didn’t seem to bother the pair who seemed very comfortable together.  

The video of them kissing, reportedly taken just before 3am, shows them stood close to each other in the venue’s foyer and leaning in to chat before he appears to peck her quickly.

They were then seen leaving the venue as part of a larger group including Danny’s bandmate Tom.

Maura then headed home alone in a taxi.

Danny has been married to wife Georgia since 2014 and the pair share seven-year-old son Cooper.

The I’m A Celebrity co-stars sat at different tables for the actual ceremony which was held earlier in the night at the 02 Arena. 

At the BRITs ceremony Maura was sat at the same table with Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo, with only one table in between her and ex Pete, but the pair didn’t go near one another. 

While Danny was a few tables away with McFly star Tom.

Representatives for Maura and Danny have been contacted by MailOnline for comment. 

Just last month Georgia revealed she had headed on a solo rural cabin retreat without the singer to recover from burnout.

Georgia, 38, held the fort at home while the McFly star jetted out to Australia in November to compete in I’m A Celebrity at the end of last year – where he was crowned King of the Jungle. 

But in a candid post, Georgia has revealed that the pressures of solo parenting and moving house on her own during that time resulted in her feeling burnt out.

‘Over a month of solo parenting, moving house on my own, working hard on my career whilst Danny was in the jungle with snakes in his pants was A LOT!’ she wrote.

So heading into the New Year, Georgia revealed she needed to ‘do something for me’ and booked a wholesome woodland retreat with cabin company Unyoked. 

Georgia took herself to snowy Shropshire where she stayed in a cabin and chopped wood, built a fire, enjoyed some reading time and soaked up nature.

It came after Georgia broke down in tears in a very emotional Instagram video in November, while Danny was in Australia.

Georgia – who held the fort at home and looked after their six-year-old son Cooper while the singer was on I’m A Celeb – admitted she had been finding it ‘stressful’ without Danny around.

Meanwhile on Saturday night Maura was busy trying to avoid her ex Pete who was also at the BRITs and the same afterparty as her.

MailOnline revealed the I’m A Celeb and Strictly stars’ romance was over on Valentine’s Day, as Maura lashed out by claiming Pete was ‘probably cheating’ when asked where he was as she celebrated her single status at London hotspot Sheesh. 

Pete made light of Maura’s cheating comment as he spoke to MailOnline on the red carpet on Saturday alongside Olivia Attwood.

Speaking about his best friend Sam Thompson, Pete told MailOnline: ‘It’s hard for Sam tonight because I’ve got a new work wife. But, he’s not far away, he’s over there actually.’ 

He added: ‘It is a little bit weird because it feels like I am…’

‘Cheating?’ Olivia interrupted as they both broke out into fits of laughter, before she added: ‘Not the first time, I might add.’

‘Because… I have never done that,’ Pete said. 

Pals of Pete previously told MailOnline he was never unfaithful to Maura during their romance and has been left hurt by her ‘cheating’ accusations.

Maura arrived on the red carpet in a sheer floral gown that left her sensational figure on full display and boasted black pipe detailing to accentuate her curves.

Opting to forgo a bra underneath the fitted number, Maura preserved her modesty with several strategically-placed intricate embroidered flowers.

However, as the TV star posed up a storm on the red carpet, she made sure to flash a cheeky glimpse at her lacy black thong underneath. 

She gave herself several extra inches with a pair of black high heels and kept her accessories simple to allow her show-stopping outfit to have all the attention.

MailOnline exposed the secret rift between Olivia and Maura last year.

It came as Olivia accused 2019 Islander Maura, of using the ‘same script’ including her reasons for entering the ITV2 dating show – ‘revenge on an ex.’ 

Her comments came as Maura starred on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, two years after Olivia had to suddenly leave the Australian jungle due to medical reasons. 

While in January, Olivia insisted to MailOnline: ‘Without sounding arrogant, I don’t feel like I’m in competition with anyone. 

‘I am relentlessly insane, no one can outwork me. They can try but they won’t succeed.’

The 2025 BRIT Awards ceremony was hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall, marking his fifth time at the helm of the event, after having previously presented the show in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
