Heathrow’s upgraded £3,800-a-visit luxurious terminal that when left bloke ‘disappointment’
Most didn’t tend to agree, however, with over 220 reviews giving the astronomically expensive lounge an average 4.6 stars out of five, with most praising the luxury of the place as well as the service
Despite being one of the most luxurious places on Earth, Heathrow’s £3,800-a-visit Windsor terminal has still left a person ‘disgusted’.
Last month the iconic airport unveiled its newly-upgraded private terminal for wealthy passengers looking for a cut above, away from the riff raff.
The reason for the timing of the refit isn’t entirely clear, but reviews from up to two years ago shockingly suggest an imperfect experience – something that seems impossible to the average person only able to dream of affording such luxury.
“Totally disgusted with their service, to which I will be going above to speak to the seniors in-charge,” a one-star-giver frothed. “Unless your [sic] escorted with armed police you actually get better treatment from the actual terminals and no need to pay for such a terrible service. A real disappointment.”
Well we never.
Heathrow did not comment on the Daily Star’s questions about poor reviews, but did provide information on the newly upgraded terminal.
Most didn’t tend to agree, however, with over 220 reviews giving the astronomically expensive lounge an average 4.6 stars out of five, with most praising the luxury of the place as well as the service.
One review from two months ago said: “I highly recommend this VIP travel service. Their staff is incredibly attentive and goes above and beyond to ensure client satisfaction. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, creating a truly pleasant experience. The food provided is also exceptional, with delicious options to suit various tastes. It’s definitely worth considering for a truly pampered and enjoyable trip.”

The suite, known, officially called The Windsor by Heathrow, is the lap of luxury for the global elite. Diplomats and celebrities, leaders and musicians have all used the ultra-posh terminal, built solely to offer a private pre-flight experience in the heart of one of the continent’s busiest international airports.
The artwork in the Windsor is often used as one of its key attractions, with works by the likes of Andy Warhol and Banksy exhibited, while passengers are picked up from their homes in swanky electric BMWs and shuttled to the airport.
Speaking about the refit, the airport said: “Heathrow has unveiled the transformation of its exclusive VIP suite, which offers a discreet, luxury and personalised service for high profile guests,” the airport said in a press release. “Highlights of the VIP service include private chauffeurs direct from front door to plane, all airport formalities taken care of, private butler service, exclusive dishes from Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton and a Personal Shopper service”.
Charlotte Burns, VIP Lead at Heathrow, said: “The Windsor by Heathrow is more than just a rebrand, it’s a testament to our heritage in pioneering luxury travel. From our carefully curated interiors to our exceptional service, we provide our guests with an unparalleled experience that reflects the finest of British hospitality. From the moment you step out of your front door, to the second you board your plane, we ensure that every detail is taken care of – making your journey seamless, relaxing and unforgettable.”
