Luke Humphries struck perfection during night five of Premier League darts – but Sky Sports fans joked they didn’t get to see it due to their ‘awful connection’

Darts fans have joked they missed Luke Humphries nine-darter due to Sky Sports’ coverage.

Humphries struck perfection during night five of Premier League darts in Brighton in his quarter-final clash with Rob Cross. Cool Hand nailed two 180s before taking out T20, T19 and D20 to raise the roof on the South Coast.

“I missed it because of your awful connection,” one fan joked – referencing Sky’s ongoing techincal problems across the coverage.

“Amazing. Wish I saw it,” a second said. And another added: “Stop posting seriously. Your coverage has been a joke!”

Fans hoping to the catch the opening salvo of night between Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen were greeted with a white screen instead of the clash.

“We’re really sorry for this temporary fault,” an onscreen message read. However, the problems didn’t end there.

A second message was put on the screen during Luke Littler’s clash with Chris Dobey as The Nuke scrapped through against Hollywood – this time the pictures were heavily pixilated as the two stars took to the oche.

There were also sound issues during an interview with Mighty Mike – with Emma Paton apologsing to the viewers.

“Putting that message across the score isn’t helping my rage Sky Sports, we KNOW you’re having issues,” one fan fumed. While a second said: “Sky Sports what a shambles, trying to watch the darts!”

“Sky sports with woeful darts coverage. Cut the screen for a solid 3-4 minutes mid game,” a third fumed. And another added: “Sky Sports having an absolute mare with the darts tonight!”

Humphries’ nine-darter was the 17th in this history of the Premier League since its inception in 2005.
