Darting superstar Luke Humphries has opened up on his dream nine-darter – but then asks if fans could actually see it.

Cool Hand wowed fans on night five of Premier League darts as he hit perfection on the stage, but Sky Sports coverage of the event left him asking if fans could actually see it.

“Obviously it’s a dream to do it on the big stage, you know, Sky Sports, did it get shown? maybe? I think so, yeah, just about luckily enough,” he said.

“That would have been well disappointing when your first nine and then they’d only show it on TV. I’d have been gutted.

“I’m really happy to hit my first one on Sky Sports and the ITV cameras. I’ve hit about five or six in my career before that, but it’s always a special feeling when you do it on the big stage and the crowd went wild!”

However, it would end in tears for Cool Hand, who despite, nailing perfection, would be dumped out by Rob Cross who was playing in front of his home crowd.

“Yeah, I thought the crowd were absolutely amazing tonight to be honest. I think they were very calm for us both,” Humphries told Daily Star Sport .

“Sometimes the crowds can be quite hostile to you, but no, the crowd tonight were absolutely amazing and even before that nine darter, I felt the buzz for that moment.

“It’s not the biggest arena we play on, so I can’t imagine if that arena was double the size, it would be absolutely the best crowd on the Premier League venue.

“I was really, really proud and they showed some great gratitude and obviously Rob’s the local guy and they showed me a massive amount of respect.

“I’m happy that I gave them something to go home with and hopefully Rob goes on and wins tonight because if he plays that I don’t think anyone will touch him.”
