Girl, 15, ‘grabbed by men who tried to drag her into car’ whereas strolling down avenue

An urgent manhunt has been launched by police after a teenage girl was said to have been grabbed by two men who tried to bundle her into a car as she walked down a city street

A teenage girl was reportedly grabbed by two men who tried to snatch her from the street and drag her into a car in a terrifying kidnap attempt, sparking an urgent manhunt.

Police have launched an investigation after the girl, 15, was subject to the ordeal on Sunday evening as she walked down a city street.

She had been walking along the road in Plymouth when two men tried to bundle her into a car just before 7pm. Luckily, she was able to escape unharmed and managed to raise the alarm.

Devon and Cornwall Police said its officers were called to Colebrook Road in the St Budeaux area of the city at 6.55pm on Sunday, March 9.

The force said inquiries were ongoing and urged anyone with any further information to contact them.

A spokesman said: “Police were called following a report of an attempted kidnap in Plymouth.

“It was reported that at around 6.55pm on Sunday 9 March a female was walking along Colebrook Road, Plymouth, when two males tried to pull her into a car. The attempt was unsuccessful and the victim was able to escape unhurt. Enquiries are ongoing.
