White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said she wanted to ‘commend’ the Washington Post for its newsroom reorganization.

Leavitt, who seasons her briefings with attacks on the ‘legacy media,’ needled the paper by pointing at Tuesday’s White House briefing to a report on the overhaul from upstart Axios.

‘It appears that the mainstream media, including the Post, is finally learning that having disdain for more than half of the country who supports this president does not help you sell newspapers,’ she said, calling it ‘not a very good business model.’

Leavitt concluded by calling on a ‘new media’ reporter, who asked her about the tanking stock market amid Trump’s announcement of new tariffs.

President Donald Trump purchased a red Tesla Model S on Wednesday in a show of support to Elon Musk.

Trump and the Tesla founder – along with his son X – viewed five different Tesla models on the South Driveway of the White House.

Trump said in the Model S with Musk and then announced he would purchase it.

He said he would pay by personal check and not ask for a discount.

Canada folded to President Donald Trump after he vowed the nation would pay a historically big ‘financial price’ for the electricity tariff it imposed on the United States.

Hours later, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said he would cancel the 25% tariff on Canadian electricity to Michigan, New York and Minnesota that he put in place on Monday.

That move was an escalation in response to earlier tariffs from Trump as the trade war between the two countries has intensified.

Ukraine has agreed to a 30-day ceasefire with Russia as President Donald Trump lifts a pause on military aid and intelligence sharing to the country.

‘Today, we’ve made an offer that the Ukrainians have accepted, which is to enter into a ceasefire and into immediate negotiations to end this conflict in a way that’s enduring and sustainable,’ said Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The president is also lifting a military aid and intelligence sharing pause to Ukraine almost two weeks after his disastrous Oval Office meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky.

Rubio, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff made the announcement after meeting with Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

Trump, in a Truth Social post announcing his support for Tesla founder Elon Musk, announced he would be buying one of the electric cars today.

‘He is going to be viewing a Tesla that is making its way to the White House complex,’ Leavitt said in her press briefing. ‘Tesla is on its way here now.’

U.S. negotiators sat down with a Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia in high-pressure talks meant to bring an end to the war in Ukraine.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz sat down at a long wooden table with Andriy Yermak, who serves as chief of staff to President Zelensky, and and Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerovto as talks began in the port city of Jeddah.

Rubio gave a thumbs-up gesture, a day after telling reporters the Ukrainians and Russia – who invaded the country – each have to do ‘difficult things.’

‘We are ready to do everything to achieve peace,’ said Yermak – who featured in Trump’s infamous July 2019 phone call with Zelensky seeking an investigation of the Bidens.

After an angry White House confrontation with President Trump where Trump accused him of not wanting peace, Zelensky called for the ‘release of prisoners and truce in the sky.’

Russia this week is continuing to pound civilian areas in Ukraine, launching 126 drones and a ballistic missile, according Ukraine’s Air Force. Ukraine launched a massive attack inside Russia, targeting Moscow as other regions on the eve of talks in its largest bombardment of the war.

Representing the Saudis are Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the foreign minister, and national security advisor Mosaad bin Mohammad al-Aiban.

Donald Trump has unleashed on a Republican lawmaker who is bucking Speaker Mike Johnson’s federal funding plan.

Johnson, in consultation with Trump, put forward a plan over the weekend that will provide enough cash for the government to stay open until September 30.

The House is expected to vote on the measure Tuesday afternoon, and its up in the air whether it will pass.

The speaker’s plan is called a continuing resolution (CR), and it effectively keeps government funding at the same levels it has been at since Joe Biden’s administration.

If a CR is not passed before Saturday, the federal government will partially shut down, meaning some agencies won’t reopen until Congress passes a funding bill.

Ahead of the vote on Tuesday morning, Vice President J.D. Vance met with House Republicans and reportedly warned them privately that if the shutdown ensues, the GOP will bear the brunt of the blame.

Publicly, though, Trump has been claiming that Democrats will bear the blame if the funding runs out.

But Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., a staunch opponent of short-term funding bills who has voted against many CRs in the past, has said he will vote against the Trump-backed plan, prompting fury from the president.

President Donald Trump will declare a national emergency on electricity in the United States and double the tariffs on aluminum and steel from Canada after retaliatory tariffs from America’s neighbor to the north.

The president, in a lengthy post on his Truth Social account on Tuesday, also threatened to ‘permanently shut down’ the Canadian auto sector.

The only thing to make his tariffs stop is for Canada to become the 51st state, he noted.

Trump is doubling down on his trade war as stocks continue to drop. The increase in tariffs, from 25% to 50%, will go into affect on Wednesday, he said.

Republican lawmakers are backing up Donald Trump’s plan to penalize pro-Hamas protestors disguised in masks at rallies.

Rep. Addison McDowell’s Unmasking Hamas Act of 2025 was first obtained by DailyMail.com and comes in response to a wave of college campus protests sympathizing with the Hamas terrorists who invaded Israel on October 7, 2023.

It’s illegal to damage federal property, breach other people’s protected rights and evade law enforcement while in disguise – all activity of which pro-Palestinian protesters have engaged.

McDowell (R-N.C.) and his bill co-sponsor want to increase the punishments to fines and cap of 15 years in prison from the current 10 years.

The congressman told DailyMail.com of who his bill targets:

Hamas sympathizers that are vandalizing, that are destroying federal property, that are intimidating students – these are, you know, people that are occupying buildings that they’re not supposed to be in, right?

This is not your, your peaceful protester holding up a sign. This is someone that wants to claim that they’re protesting, but they’re really spray painting the side of a building or harassing police officers – in some cases, they’re assaulting police officers.

These are not these are not peaceful protesters, they’re terrorists in training.

President Donald Trump‘s youngest son Barron continues to grow in popularity among Republicans, so much that some of them would consider changing to Constitution to let him run for president early.

Thirty-eight percent of Republicans disagreed with the idea and 22 percent did not voice an opinion when asked.

The Philadelphia Eagles have accepted an invitation to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX victory.

‘We sent the invite, and they enthusiastically accepted,’ a White House official told The Philadelphia Inquirer. ‘We are working with them to determine a date and logistics.’

Trump attended the football championship game, where the Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs, 40 to 22.

It will mark the team’s first visit to the White House during a Trump presidency after an invitation during the president’s first term ended in controversy.

After their 2018 Super Bowl win, some Eagles players said they wouldn’t attend the White House celebration because of Trump’s criticism of football players who kneeled or raised their fists during the national anthem in protest of racial injustice and police brutality.

In response, Trump rescinded the invite to the team and held a patriotic celebration instead.

President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff is headed to Russia this week to meet with President Vladimir Putin as talks continue in Saudi Arabia about ending the war in Ukraine.

Witkoff is taking a growing role in Russian relations. This will be his second meeting with Putin.

It will come after today’s talks in Jedda, where Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Michael Waltz are meeting with a delegation from Kyiv led by President Zelensky’s chief of staff Andriy Yermak.

Ukraine has proposed a halt in sea and air strikes but wants security guarantees before a complete ceasefire, which the U.S. is advocating for. Russia is not at the talks in Saudi Arabia but wants its own concessions – particularly over land possession – before ending the war.

President Trump will meet with 100 CEOs today for a regular business roundtable.

It comes amid growing feats over inflation and a potential recession.

Trump has imposed an additional 20 percent tariff on Chinese goods entering the United States, as well as 25 percent tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico.

He suspended most of the duties on U.S. neighbors until April 2, when he plans to unveil a global regime of reciprocal tariffs on all trading partners.

Trump last month said the policies could cause ‘short-term, some little pain’ before delivering long-run benefits.

In a Fox News interview aired over the weekend, he declined to predict whether his economic policies would cause a recession.
