Luke Littler nails second nine-darter of the day throughout Players Championship 5
Luke Littler is in the form of his life and he backed up victories at Premier League darts and the Belgium Darts Open with a nine-darter and 122.96 average on Tuesday
Luke Littler has achieved perfection.
The Nuke, 18, was the second star of the day to take 501 in nine darts as Gary Anderson also nailed a nine-darter.
Littler struck gold on his way to a deciding-leg 6-5 victory over Adam Hunt in round two on Tuesday afternoon.
Littler took the standard route of 180, 180, 141 to achieve the feat for the fifth time in his career and for the first time this season.
Meanwhile it was the eighth nine-darter of Gary Anderson’s career, as he hit his against Ryan Joyce.
The duo achieving perfection comes just a couple of days after Luke Humphries and Rob Cross both hit one in at Premier League darts in Brighton.
Littler would win the evening last Thursday, and he would go on to achieve more success at the Euro Tour over the weekend – beating local lad Mike De Decker in the final.
The Nuke would then post an eye-watering 122.96 average against Damon Heta.
“122 average from Littler to beat Heta is mind blowing! What a player,” one fan posted. While a second said: “Luke Littler is an absolute Joke! He’s just unbeatable right now!”
“Away from Cheltenham, Luke Littler has just averaged 122.96 against Heta in the PC. Absolutely outrageous,” a third shared. And another added: “Luke Littler is never going to lose again, huh?
When asked what ambitions he has for the rest of the year on Sunday, Littler replied: “No idea. I just have to see what comes at me.
“I said after the World Championship, if I don’t win anything throughout the whole year, I’m still a world champion.
“I’m happy to win the UK Open and come back here and go back-to-back; now it’s straight onto the Players Championship events and then back to the Premier League.”
