A Newcastle United fan has got a Greggs sausage roll inspired haircut ahead of the Carabao Cup final versus Liverpool.
Matty Nicholls shocked his barber when he requested him to shave it into the back of his head before the big game at Wembley on Sunday.
The 29-year-old took his love for the Toon to a whole new level by getting the beloved bakery’s most iconic product shaved into his head.
Greggs has its HQ in Newcastle and the first bakery was in the city. Mich Lange took on the challenge to cut Matty’s hair at edits barbershop in Newcastle.
The barber often cuts the hair for Newcastle United stars including Bruno Guimarães, Joelinton and Kieran Trippier.
The buzzcut features the Greggs sausage roll peeking out of a paper bag with the brand’s iconic logo.
Matty, from Ashington, Northumberland, has been going to Newcastle matches since he was a kid and is now a season ticket holder attending every match with his 11-year-old daughter.
The 29-year-old will be sporting his new look as his team takes on Liverpool at Wembley, looking to end their major English trophy drought since 1955, as reported by NeedToKnow.
Fans were left in stitches by the innovative “short, bake and sides” haircut, while others delivered a brutal verdict.
One fan posting on X said: “I’ll be in for my chicken bake on Saturday mate.” Another commented: “Whole new meaning to a flakey scalp.”
A third fan posted: “Short back and sausage roll.” Another said: “Trims looking tasty bruv.” And a fifth added: “This can’t be real.”
Greggs branded the unique hairstyle the ‘Short, Bake and Sides’. The beloved bakery has since contacted Mich to arrange two appointments under the same title.
And a link to book the haircuts has been posted on Greggs’ official Instagram account. It gives fans the chance to follow in Matty’s footsteps and get the iconic trim ahead of the match.
