Tradie exhibits up for work as normal after profitable ‘life-changing’ $10million Powerball
A Sydney tradie has claimed the $10million prize in the latest Powerball draw – and then turned up to work as usual the next day.
The Manly resident learnt of his winnings on Thursday night.
‘I checked my ticket just before bed; literally moments before falling asleep and then I saw I had won the lot,’ he said.
‘I started shaking and I definitely wasn’t sleepy after that. I couldn’t help but shed a tear.
‘I honestly thought I’d wake up and it wouldn’t be there in the morning, like it was all a dream.’
But he still managed to turn up for work on Friday, though he acknowledged he ‘might not have to work anymore’.
Asked what he planned to do with the money, the tradesman said he planned to seek financial advice to best support his family and new lifestyle.
‘It’s life changing. I’m going to see a financial advisor and set myself up.

The Manly tradesman attended work as usual on Friday despite being $10million richer
‘I’ll be able to help my family too. I never, ever thought this would happen to me.’
As the only top bracket winner in the Thursday Powerball draw, he will receive the entire $10million jackpot.
The winning numbers were 11, 6, 5, 7, 30, 4 and 19. The Powerball number was 20.
No division two winners were named in the Thursday draw, though six lucky punters took home division three prizes worth $16,939.30.
In the 2025 financial year, 335 Australians have taken home a division one Powerball prize.
Of those, 90 were residents of New South Wales.
Also this week, Western Australia celebrated its 15th division one winner for 2025.
The $1million numbers were announced in Lotterywest’s Wednesday Millionaire Medley draw

The man described the win as ‘life changing’ and said he planned to seek financial advice
The ticket was purchased from Nollamara IGA in Perth.
‘The owner of the division one winning ticket has contacted Lotterywest, however no further details about the winner are available,’ a Lotterywest spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.
Last month, a Melbourne couple were made $30million richer after using numbers they claimed had been revealed to them in a dream.
The winners struck gold with a division one win and two division two wins in the Powerball draw announced on 27 February.
‘I had a dream about these numbers – 1, 7, 11 and 22. There were other numbers, but I didn’t remember them all,’ the winning man told TheLott.
‘I’ve always had these numbers in my head so I put them and a few others on a ticket a few years ago, hoping they would pay off. And it did!’
Like Thursday’s winner, the couple attended work as usual following the windfall.
‘It’s come at the perfect time. It just takes the pressure off. We’re pretty low key. We’ll still go to work tomorrow.
‘We just want to enjoy life. We’ll speak to a financial advisor and invest.
‘We don’t want for much, so this means we are well and truly set.’
