Can Danny Jones save his picture? Reputation professional reveals how the star’s drunken kiss with Maura Higgins will REALLY impact his profession simply months after he was topped King of the Jungle

He makes up a quarter of one of the UK’s biggest boybands with McFly‘s hits All About You and Five Colours In Her Hair the soundtrack to so many teen years. 

And more recently Danny Jones earned himself a new audience of fans after he won last year’s series of I’m A Celeb. 

Following in a long line of successful reigning Jungle Kings and Queens, including Sam Thompson, Vicky Pattison and  Stacey Solomon, a win Down Under is normally a gateway to launching career success to the next level. 

However, just four months after his win Danny has found himself at the centre of headlines for less complimentary reasons after his drunken kiss with Maura Higgins at the Brits. 

And as the star attempts to move forward following the incident, Brand and Culture Expert Nick Ede confirmed that Danny will likely lose out on opportunities that are aimed at family appeal. 

Speaking to MailOnline he revealed: ‘The kiss will have an effect at the moment as there is a lot of negativity surrounding it and people are split between their loyalties for Danny and Maura and his wife. 

‘He may lose out on opportunities that are aimed at his family appeal and also his huge popularity as an I’m a celeb winner which brought in a new demographic of fans for him. 

‘I can see brands will be wanting to see how public opinion is before they sign him up at the moment and wont want to associate themselves with him currently.’

Danny has been part of McFly alongside his bandmates Tom Fletcher, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter since 2003, and Tom and Harry both have a wholesome family life which they share on social media. 

Giving his expert opinion on how his bandmates will react he said: ‘McFly don’t want to have someone in their band that’s in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. 

‘They have a great family and wholesome reputation and won’t want that tarnished but also they are loyal to their friend and bandmate so I think they will be making sure that they are seen as a united band.’

Danny and Maura, who met together in the jungle, were filmed sharing a kiss outside the BRITs Universal Music afterparty in the early hours of the morning.

A second bombshell video then emerged which claimed to show the pair drinking wine together until 6am at a Sony party at the Nobu Hotel in Marylebone.

Danny and his wife Georgia Jones are reportedly fighting to save their marriage and Georgia has temporarily moved out of the family home to live with her close pal Rose. 

However on Wednesday Danny was seen out and about seemingly without a care in the world as he beamed while enjoying a walk in West London. 

The happy outing was a stark contrast to his downcast appearance on Monday morning. 

Commenting on his happy appearance, Nick added: ‘I think that he is showing a brave face as he must be hurting inside and ashamed. 

‘I think its better to be smiling and getting on with his daily life that looking down and depressed which can come across as contrived and disingenuous. 

Predicting fan reaction he said: ‘I think the public may feel that his beaming smile is just a way of deflecting from the situation.’

Meanwhile the star and Georgia, who have been married for 11 years and share a son Cooper, seven, were also pictured on a tense outing together last week.  

Last Friday the singer broke his silence on the ordeal as he released a statement apologising to Georgia for ‘putting her in the situation’. 

He wrote: ‘Hello everyone. Sorry its taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me.

‘I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love then so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.

‘I love you guys, thank you for you patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.’

Discussing his statement, Nick concluded: ‘I think this is a long game he has already spoken out on social media and he will want to redeem himself in the eyes of his family first then the public. 

‘He’s a very popular person and his honesty will be what makes him connect with his fans, I think that being truthful in this situation is the best way forward to close this chapter and hopefully move forward.’

It comes after The Mail revealed that a ‘furious’ Georgia had left the London house she only recently bought with her husband.

Insiders said she is staying with her friends while the couple work on a resolution. 

Georgia went to stay with a friend to gain some space from the situation for a few days after he kissed Maura.

But despite his grovelling, a source told MailOnline that Georgia took some time away from her husband as she stayed over at her and Danny’s best friends’ house. 

Georgia is said to have stayed with her friend for some ‘girly time’ to distract herself from everything that has been going on.

However the source insisted Georgia only left the family home temporarily and the couple are ‘working on things behind closed doors’.   

It comes after sources said Georgia is keen to avoid being seen as a ‘pushover’ by forgiving Danny too fast.

A friend of Georgia’s revealed: ‘She is furious – not just with her husband’s actions, but with all the chaos this has brought to their lives, particularly for their young son Cooper.

‘All she wants to do is protect her boy from this mess. It has been overwhelming and she needs time to process what has happened. Only then can she begin to talk about the future.

‘They are now on a break and are living apart from each other.’

A source close to the musician told the Mirror that ‘He has been mortified about what’s happened and the awful situation he has put everyone in. 

‘He cares so deeply about his family and hopes his words will draw a line under what has been a deeply upsetting time for everyone. Georgia and his son are absolutely everything to him.’

They added: ‘He and Georgia are living together and trying to work things through but he is not out of the woods. He will be in the doghouse for a while yet.’

Maura is yet to comment on the drama, and instead recently jetted to Los Angeles for a shoot with the clothing brand Oh Polly.
