Jack Grealish instructed to show again on Pep Guardiola to avoid wasting England World Cup dream
Jack Grealish has been told to leave Manchester City to save his England World Cup hopes after Thomas Tuchel opted not to call the winger up to his first Three Lions squad
Jack Grealish has been told to turn his back on Pep Guardiola and Manchester City if he wants to keep his World Cup dream alive.
Grealish has endured a miserable season with the English champions, after failing to hold down a starting place in Guardiola’s team. This comes on the back of Grealish missing out on a place in the England squad for last summer’s Euros in Germany.
With Thomas Tuchel leading England’s latest World Cup bid in the hope of winning the ultimate prize in the summer of 2026, Grealish will hope to be part of it. But Didi Hamann has told the £100m man to forget about being involved with England while he remains a City player.
Hamann told Best Betting Sites: “He’s been at the club for so long and as you say, he’s won everything.
“He had spells where he showed what he can do. If you ask me now over the four or five years he’s been there, whether he’s been a success, I’d say no.
“Because there’s just too many and too long periods where he hardly featured, didn’t feature or didn’t really affect the game as much as he should have.
“I think he needs a change of scenery and also, looking ahead to the World Cup, if he wants to go to the World Cup in 2026, you only get so many chances as a player.
“To do that, and I’m sure Thomas Tuchel would have told him, he probably has to go somewhere else and play regular first team football.”
The 29-year-old has started just six Premier League games this season and has played little over half an hour in the league since the turn of the New Year.
Despite City’s struggles, Grealish appears to be completely out of contention under Guardiola.
