Luke Littler hits ‘beautiful’ nine-darter in Premier League Night 7 closing win
Luke Littler hit a nine-darter in the Premier League Night 7 final in Cardiff against Michael van Gerwen.
‘The Nuke’ hit his first perfect leg in the Premier League in 2025 and the competition’s third nine-darter this year, after Luke Humphries and Rob Cross achieved the feat in Brighton two weeks ago.
After hitting back-to-back 180s, Littler hit T20, T17 and pinned D15. Littler took a double glance at whether the final dart was in the double before he let out a roar and ran to the crowd to celebrate.
Van Gerwen’s face was a picture of astonishment before the two fist bumped on the stage and Littler continued to lap up the scenes with the crowd.
Littler took a 3-1 lead in the final with the nine-darter and had to use it as inspiration to hold off a resurgent Van Gerwen, eventually winning two successive legs to seal a 6-4 win and extend his lead at the top of the table.

Fans lauded Littler’s darting perfection on X, with one fan saying: “Incredible 9-darter from Luke Littler! Superb tonight.” A second added: “Luke Littler is absolutely incredible man what a bloke.” While a third echoed: “Luke Littler is remarkable. Absolutely brilliant to see.”
Littler started the night with a quarter-final win over his close ally Nathan Aspinall. ‘The Nuke’ brushed aside ‘The Asp’ again in a 6-3 victory that saw the world champ crush his opponent’s average, clocking up 102.21 compared to Aspinall’s 88.73.
The Premier League leader then took on Rob Cross in the semi-final. Littler charged into a 3-0 lead but had to take out 109 to stop Cross having the chance to level the match at 3-3. Littler then went on to reel off the next two legs to dismiss ‘Voltage’.

Meanwhile, Van Gerwen reached his first nightly Premier League final of the year after putting in an imperious performance to beat Luke Humphries 6-4. MVG averaged 104.04 and went 54.55 percent on his doubles, seeing commentator Wayne Mardle exclaim “What year is this?” in reference to Van Gerwen producing a performance reminiscent of his late all-conquering 2010s form.
Van Gerwen then had a much easier time of it in the semi-final against Chris Dobey, beating the Geordie 6-1 in a game of far less quality than MVG’s quarter-final clash.
