Man, 23, is charged over double homicide after two OAPs ‘discovered stabbed to dying on the street’
A man has been charged with the murder of two pensioners after they were found stabbed to death in the street.
Mouhamadou Fall, 23, has been charged over the deaths of Sidy Fall, 75, and Norman Scott, 68, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed today.
Fall, of Milverton Road, Manchester had previously been detained under the Mental Health Act following the stabbings.
Paramedics rushed to Great Southern Street in Moss Side on 17 November, 2024 after receiving reports of two injured men.
But, despite their best efforts, Mr Scott and Mr Fall tragically died at the scene – sparking a murder investigation.
A statement released by GMP on the day of the stabbing read: ‘Early this morning at around 5am (17 November), officers were called to reports that two people that had suffered stab wounds on Great Southern Street in Moss Side.
‘Emergency services attended and despite the best efforts of first responders, two men were treated at the scene for their injuries but sadly both pronounced dead.
‘The man who was arrested on suspicion of murder earlier today has now been detained under the Mental Health Act after being assessed by medical professionals.
‘Through initial enquiries, we believe that the suspect and one of the victims were known to each another.’

Chief Superintendent David Meeney, district commander for the City of Manchester division said: ‘This morning, two lives have been lost in our community, and our thoughts go to their families who have lost a loved one today.
‘We are treating this as an isolated incident with no threat to the wider public.’
He added that the incident was ‘devastating’ and said it sent ‘shockwaves’ through the local community.

A police cordon guarded by officers could also be observed at each end of the crime scene.
Two blue forensic tents were also established: one in the middle of the road at the junction of Great Southern Street and Kippax Street and a second close to the junction with Crofton Street around 100 metres east.
The families of the victims continue to be supported by specially trained officers and have asked for privacy at this extremely difficult time.
