Myles Lewis-Skelly scores first objective of Thomas Tuchel period with ‘good debut’
Myles Lewis-Skelly has scored the first goal of the Thomas Tuchel era to break the deadlock against Albania.
Lewis-Skelly, 18, was making his senior England debut as Tuchel led out his England team for the first time on Friday evening. And it was the Arsenal starlet that helped England into the lead in their World Cup qualification clash.
Jude Bellingham was the man to make it all happen with some lovely footwork in the centre of the park.
The Real Madrid star picked his head up and spotted the onrushing Arsenal star – sliding the ball into his path.
And Lewis-Skelly poked the ball through the feet of Thomas Strakosha in the Albania goal.

“I think Thomas Tuchel struggled to hide a smile there – he was so happy with that goal,” Matthew Upson, who was appearing on BBC Radio 5 Live, said.
“Jude Bellingham plays a huge part in Myles Lewis-Skelly scoring. The weight of the pass, Bellingham was very central, and he does a lovely turn and comes back on himself.
“It is a simple run, but Lewis-Skelly sees the opening and he goes for it. It’s a simple pass into the net.”
There was a bit of history in the goal too – aged 18 years and 176 days, Lewis-Skelly is the youngest player to score on his senior England debut.
Ahead of the game, Lewis-Skelly revealed he mistook an Uber Eats driver for Thomas Tuchel before his first England call-up.
The defender revealed: “I put on my good voice. I’m getting ready and then the person that speaks says ‘we have your food, it’s outside’.
“It was Uber Eats for my mum.”
