Fulham might determine Premier League title race and win Marco Silva supervisor of the season

Everton and Farhad Moshiri always felt they had the right manager but at the wrong time when Marco Silva was in charge at Goodison Park.

Silva was eventually sacked in 2019 but there was always a feeling of ‘what if?’ among the Blues hierarchy about the Portuguese manager.

Nothing went right for him while there but they felt he was a good coach with a bright future.

Now he’s proving that with Fulham. This is going to be a huge fortnight for the Cottagers.

They’ve got an FA Cup quarter-final with Crystal Palace to come before they face Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League.

The two league games will be built up as ‘Will Fulham cause a stir in the title race with two upsets?’

But they’ve proven already this season they can compete with both after draws earlier in the campaign.

So Fulham will have their minds on their own ambitions and that’s getting into the Champions League. They’re only three points off the top five.

If Silva could steer the London club into Europe and win the FA Cup then he could be manager of the season.

ONSIDE Dan Burn. Easy one this week. The boy from Blyth heading Newcastle to glory and ending 70 years of pain.

OFFSIDE Ange Postecoglou. Losing his cool after some heat from fans, tetchy with the media. Does he take criticism from anyone?
