Armstrong is of no fixed address but the offences took place at an address in Greenwich between November 2023 and August 2024. The victims were ages 12 at the time of the crimes, and they were both known to Armstrong, Met Police has confirmed.

The victims bravely came forward to police and reported the crimes in August 2024, after which an investigation was launched by the Met’s Public Protection South East team.

The victims were supported by specialist officers throughout the investigation. Officers compiled numerous witness statements over four months and a wealth of evidence, which ultimately led to a guilty plea.

Detective Constable Callum Boast, of the Met’s Public Protection South East team, said: “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the victims in this case, who have been extremely courageous in coming forward to police and recounting the trauma of abuse they suffered because of Armstrong.

“Armstrong is a dangerous individual who has carried out horrific crimes to two girls known to him. He will now serve a substantial amount of time behind bars for his despicable behaviour. It cannot be underestimated the impact, both physical and mental, such sustained abuse will have had and I hope today’s sentence will give some sense of closure and peace to the victims and their loved ones.”

Earlier this month paedo hunters snared a man at his home who thoguht he was swapping snaps with a 14-year-old. Liam Hallett, of Taunton Road, west Hull, asked the decoy girl to send naked pictures of herself to him, Hull Crown Court heard.

In return, he sent her an explicit video of himself in an embarrassing bid to tempt her into further sexual behaviour. The 28-year-old admitted attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, and attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act.
