Mike Myers Jabs Trump Without Even Using His Name In The Most Canadian Way Possible

Actor/comic Mike Myers joined Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in a new video where the two sent a message to President Donald Trump, who has initiated a trade war against the country and said it should be America’s 51st state.

And they didn’t even use his name.

In the skit for the country’s Liberal Party, Myers and Carney ― both in red Canada jerseys ― meet up at a hockey practice. Carney starts out skeptical of Myers, who was born and raised in Canada but now lives in the United States.

“I’ll always be Canadian,” Myers insists, then proves it by answering a series of rapid-fire questions on everything from Canadian TV to the “two seasons” in Toronto: “winter and construction.”

Myers then has a question for Carney.

“Will there always be a Canada?” he asks.

“There will always be a Canada,” Carney vows.

Myers says “elbows up,” and Carney repeats the phrase, a hockey term for defending yourself and fighting back that’s become a rallying cry against Trump’s push to turn the country into a state.

But the biggest jab at Trump comes at the end, and is completely unspoken. As the camera pulls out, the back of Myers’ jersey is revealed: NEVER 51.

Myers recently returned to “Saturday Night Live” to portray billionaire/Trump sidekick Elon Musk, where he also let his clothing doing the talking. During the credits, he wore a T-shirt saying “Canada Is Not For Sale” and pointed to his elbows as he said “elbows up.”
