UK gang battle mastermind uncovered as ‘ex-football hooligan’ who’s hiding in Dubai
A mob boss pulling the strings from his Dubai bolthole has formed a ruthless ‘supergang’ with tentacles reaching across Scotland’s underworld, new information has detailed
The orchestrator of the gangland warfare terrorising Edinburgh’s streets is a former football hooligan and failed businessman, according to reports.
The city has been shaken by a series of horrifying shootings and firebombings in recent weeks, believed to be retaliation for an underworld heist. It has now emerged the new mob boss, operating from his hideout in Dubai, has formed a ruthless “supergang” with connections spanning Scotland’s criminal underworld.
Sources describe the elusive figure, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, as “cold, calculated and intelligent”, posing a significant threat to law enforcement agencies and rival gangs.
The 31-year-old was a leading figure in one of Scotland’s most notorious football firms and faced court over match-day disturbances. However, it’s understood he left the group fearing his increasing prominence might draw unwanted attention, reports Edinburgh Live.
He also embarked on several business ventures including shops and takeaways but all ended in failure before he disappeared, only to re-emerge with devastating impact this month.
Now residing in the Middle East, he is said to have spent the intervening years establishing an unparalleled network of international criminal contacts.
The underworld kingpin with a fiercely loyal and brutal network of henchmen in Scotland surfaced following the theft of a vast amount of cocaine, believed to be connected to gangster Mark Richardson, from his crime outfit.
An insider revealed: “The new face is an intelligent guy and a very calculated individual. The police have been on his tail for years and he’s managed to keep his links to organised crime well hidden from public domain.
“He disappeared from Scotland a few years ago. He’s made powerful criminal contacts all over the world, it’s a very dangerous combination.”
Edinburgh has recently been rocked by a string of brazen attacks targeting businesses linked to the infamous hoodlum Mark Richardson.
The unsettling chain of events saw the first armed attack on March 20, when shots were fired at a residence on Niddrie Marischal Crescent.
This violence spilled over to the next day with another shooting on West Pilton Bank, which the police suspect may involve rival groups locked in conflict. Over the weekend, further chaos ensued as a house was targeted in a ruthless firebomb assault on Hay Drive.
Sharing insights with Edinburgh Live, a source revealed: “This is a proper mafia style group these guys have and his new group has influence everywhere. They’ve formed a group that Scotland has never seen before.”
The community of Niddrie is very worried following the rampage, still reeling from the residential shooting and the most recent inferno in Hay Drive. A sense of fear lingers, with residents anxiously anticipating what might unfold next.
“Everyone in this area is worried because nobody knows what’s going to happen next,” a concerned local confided. “Every morning people are waking up and messaging others to find out if anything else has happened.”
