Viral American goes to Greggs for the primary time to strive three British staples
TikTok mega-creator James Charles documented their first trip to the iconic British bakery chain, trying three Greggs staples – a sausage roll, a chicken bake and a pizza slice
A famous TikTokker walked into a Greggs in London for the first time, and really enjoyed themselves.
US-based content creator James Charles, who commands an impressive 2.3 million followers on TikTok, was visiting the UK and sadly had never been to a Greggs before. Luckily, a trip to the iconic British bakery chain was about to take place. Posting a video on TikTok captioned “Greggs review”, the influencer documented their experience in full while buying a sausage roll, a chicken bake and a pizza slice.
“Wait, it’s so good,” they said while they tucked into the sausage roll. “I feel like it needs a bit of sauce.”
Ketchup was then offered to the influencer, who agreed a bit of the Red Stuff was just what the snack required to make it “hit”. “Oh, much better,” they added. Shortly after this, James tried a chicken bake which “hit the spot”.
Last but not least, James wolfed down a fabled Greggs’ pizza slice. “This reminds me of American lunch room food – like a school lunch,” James apparently meant this as a compliment.
Once again James urged their viewers to “wait!” exclaiming: “That’s so good.”
“Wait,” James inexplicably demanded again. “Wait.”
“I am going to rate Greggs a solid seven out of 10,” they added. “If I was drunk on a night out, this would be a 10. Yay. Thanks guys.”
In the comment section, most people were preoccupied with “passing out” if they spotted household name James Charles at their local Greggs.
“Imagine serving James in greggs, I would pass AWAY,” wrote one viewer.
“Imagine working in greggs and james charles comes in and orders a sausage roll,” said another. Well, now they don’t have to imagine.
Others had a view on James’ sauce choice. “A sausage roll with ketchup is DIABOLICAL,” wrote one person, taking umbrage with a generations-old tradition of having ketchup with a sausage.
In an unrelated incident, a Greggs in Coventry set to open today (March 24) was engulfed in flames before it even had a chance to open its doors over the weekend.
Firefighters in Coventry battled the blaze at the outlet for approximately five hours last night, Friday, March 21.
Photos captured at the scene at the Coventry Greggs revealed extensive damage, including a lorry that was also destroyed.
