CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Reveals How Similar Trump 2.0 Is To His First Term

President Donald Trump’s official schedule is quiet in the mornings, according to CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, similar to how it was in his first term in the White House.
“He doesn’t really do much in the morning,” Collins said on the latest episode of “The New Yorker Radio Hour” podcast. “Maybe he’ll be posting but he’s not doing a lot of meetings or press conferences or anything.”

But afternoons?
That’s apparently a different story.
“In the afternoons, it can be quite busy,” Collins acknowledged of the rhythm of the White House for news outlets. “You can be going in there for a 45-minute press conference and you’ve really got to be paying attention to what’s the headline here.”
Collins also noted that Trump “doesn’t really sleep that much.”
“You wake up to a Truth Social post from him about how he’s voiding all the pardons that President Biden issued,” she said, offering an example of his often-frenetic late-night activity.
Collins’ insights into Trump’s work habits came after podcast host Clare Malone asked how covering Trump’s second term compares with the first.

The answer? Not much has actually changed, said Collins.
A lot of Trump’s core staff are the same and the president is also “unchanged in the sense of his schedule and how he operates,” Collins explained. “So I think if you covered it round one, it’s not that it’s any less chaotic or less busy but you are just kinda more adjusted to it.”
Trump’s so-called “executive time” — the reported roughly 60% of his working hours dedicated to posting on social media, watching television and taking phone calls — became a talking point during his first term.
Clarification: This article has been updated to clarify Collins’ comments about mornings pertained to Trump’s schedule with the press.
