Alejandro Garnacho shared an update after returning to Manchester United on Monday.

The 20-year-old was left out of Argentina’s recent World Cup qualifiers squad and took a week away from Carrington during the international break.

Garnacho was overlooked from the national team in favor of Benjamin Dominguez for games against Uruguay and Brazil. Garnacho has been capped eight times for Argentina since switching allegiance from Spain in March 2022.

Lionel Scaloni explained his decision: “We decided to call up Benjamin Dominguez over Garnacho to be able to see him, he brings something we didn’t have. He is a guy who is doing well, he can play as a winger on the right or left, he easily gets past defenders.”

Garnacho used the time off to refresh himself ahead of a demanding period for United. After spending a brief time away from the club, Garnacho announced his return, uploading an image of himself on Instagram in boots and shorts, simply captioning it: “Back home.”

After an initial adjustment period under Ruben Amorim, Garnacho has found form, with a goal and two assists in his most recent four outings for the Red Devils.

His resurgence has injected much-needed dynamism into a United side that has lacked creativity and strength in attack, and fans have welcomed his upturn in performances.

Following Rasmus Hojlund and Garnacho’s goals in United’s 3-0 win over Leicester before the international hiatus, Amorim praised his players to the BBC, saying: “The most important thing for me is the work they are putting in, especially defending.

“They live for assists and scoring goals. Rasmus really good control right foot and then Garnacho is always trying to score a goal and he deserved that feeling.”

While Garnacho has returned to Carrington, he faces a week’s wait to rejoin the action.

United’s next challenge will be an away game at Nottingham Forest in the Premier League next Tuesday.

Amorim will be looking to extend United’s four match unbeaten run in the Premier League.
