Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow tackle their ‘breakfast struggle’ in shock joint look amid rift rumors
Gwyneth Paltrow and Meghan Markle shocked fans on Tuesday as they joined forces to shutdown ongoing speculation of a ‘feud’ between them.
The Oscar-winner, 52, addressed the rift rumors during an Instagram Q&A.
One of her 8.7 million followers asked if she was ‘comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?’
Paltrow, filming in the kitchen of her sprawling Los Angeles home, replied: ‘I genuinely do not understand this at all whatsoever.’
She then turned her head to ask someone off screen, ‘Do you understand this?’
Paltrow quickly panned her iPhone camera to her right to reveal Markle sitting beside her at her kitchen counter.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, playfully shrugged at Paltrow’s question while chowing down on a piece of pie.

The duo’s joint appearance comes amid rampant comparisons between Markle’s controversial new Netflix show With Love, Meghan and lifestyle brand Ever and Paltrow’s GOOP empire — sparking rumors of a potential feud as fans accused Markle of ‘copying’ Paltrow.
Paltrow further fueled the speculation over the weekend by appearing to throw subtle ‘shade’ as she filmed herself making breakfast in her own kitchen while wearing pajamas.
On Saturday, she posted a clip of herself making scones, bacon and eggs on Instagram.
Throughout Markle’s series, she looked flawless in luxury designer gear and hired out a kitchen which was not her own.
Paltrow, on the other hand, went makeup-free while sporting casual striped pyjamas for her video, and used a soundtrack of This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole – which has also been used in promos for Markle’s Netflix project.
Fans jumped to X to share their thoughts, with one penning: ‘Gwyneth Paltrow continues to throw shade & I’m here for it! No makeup in her actual kitchen!’
A fan also wrote, ‘Even the music… that’s Natalie Cole ‘this will be (an EVER lasting love)’!!!!!’
Another shared on social media, ‘Lol isn’t it this the song they keep using in the Meghan Markle promo?’
‘And being as relatable as she can be, in her pj’s, hair not styled, no make up sipping coffee. No one praising her. Just her phone filming. Simple and easy,’ one typed out.
A fan added, ‘Go Gwyneth. And she has a real dog in her own real kitchen on her own real property.’

Meghan notably did not film the Netflix series at her own Montecito residence – but instead shot the episodes at an $8 million farmhouse in the same area.
‘Freaking dying. She doesn’t even need to say a WORD. Authentic, better in every single way in her pj’s no makeup & SO elevated,’ one commented, while another shared, ‘In her PJs, top trolling.’
In the episodes of the star’s Netflix series, Meghan notably opted for classical makeup and stylish ensembles as she gave her own advice when it came to cooking, gardening and also hosting parties.
‘Pinstripe jammies? Check. Dog? Check. Eggs? Check. Monogrammed mug? Check. Lemons? Check? Her kitchen? Check. Jar of preserves? Check. High kick? Check,’ one typed.
Markle’s late dog Guy was featured on With Love, Meghan and in her Instagram video, Paltrow was seen petting her own pup as well.
The social media user also seemingly referenced to Gwyneth cooking eggs – which Meghan did in her show. The wife of Prince Harry cooked scrambled eggs but with a twist and used sparkling water.
When putting together meals, a bowl of limes and lemons was sometimes placed on the spacious island where Markle prepared dishes. And in the actress’s short reel, lemons could be seen on the table.
In regards to the jar of preserves, Meghan showed off her homemade jam and preserves – and in the Instagram reel, Gwyneth also seemed to indulge in either jam or chutney.

The duo’s joiny video comes days after fans were convinced that Paltrow was throwing subtle ‘shade’ at Markle with her latest cooking video that was shared to Instagram on Saturday

Earlier this month, her Netflix series With Love, Meghan dropped on the streaming site and received negative criticism despite being renewed for a second season

Gwyneth’s home-cooked meal consisted of scones, two eggs and some bacon strips
At the beginning of the video, the Iron Man actress strolled towards the camera while sipping from a monogrammed mug – with others speculating that she was referencing to how Markle also has a monogram due to being the Duchess of Sussex.
‘Notice the lettering on the cup?!!’ one penned, while another also shared, ‘The monogram mug!!’
‘What a difference.. so natural & authentic!!! Love the music,’ a fan typed while also seemingly referencing to Paltrow’s background music.
While some suspected that Paltrow was shading Meghan, others had a different opinion.
One wrote, ‘Eh, she’s been doing these kinds of videos forever,’ and another commented, ‘shade at….? i’m not getting it.’
‘I don’t think she is throwing shade. I just think she is showing off. That’s what she does and she would not make fun of anyone because of everything that’s been thrown her way,’ one X user shared.
And another typed, ‘Omg! Gwyneth has been doing this pre-Meghan. Aint throwing shade.’
Last week, Paltrow and fitness guru Tracy Anderson were accused of mocking Meghan during an ad for the actress’s Goop brand.

Throughout the clip, the Oscar winner could be seen making biscuits as well as eggs and bacon to start her day

She went makeup free while sporting casual striped pajamas for the reel, and the track This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole played in the background – which has also been used in promos for Markle’s own Netflix project

Tracy – who founded the celeb-loved, self-titled Tracy Anderson Method – appeared to mock The Duchess as she introduced the new Tracy’s Green Goddess Crunch Salad in partnership with Goop Kitchen, Paltrow’s new delivery-only dining empire.
Anderson appeared to have taken up a new hobby in the kitchen as she explained how to make her new salad in a video that was posted to both her and Goop’s Instagram pages.
She opened the clip by telling viewers, ‘Hi, I’m Tracy Anderson, and welcome to my actual kitchen,’ pausing for dramatic affect.
Many viewers thought thought that was a dig at Markle, who filmed her highly panned new Netflix show With Love, Meghan in a different home rather than her own.
Anderson continued to show viewers exactly how they can create the salad during the video, which included kale, watermelon radish, carrots and cabbage.
Markle’s show, which premiered earlier this month, sees her hosting a variety of famous friends like comedian Mindy Kaling in the kitchen as they make meals together and create home décor, like beeswax candles.
Fans of the show flocked to Anderson’s comments on the Instagram video to call her out for what they thought was some shade thrown at The Duchess.
‘Hmm Mean Girls is sooooo 2004! Maybe reflect on your comment before you say next time,’ one person wrote.

Another agreed, ‘Shocking a woman cutting another woman down with a little passive aggressive snark. Do better.’
‘This was an unnecessary dig. You can’t tell us you didn’t know EXACTLY what you were doing. Tell me you’re not a girl’s girl without telling me you’re not a girl’s girl,’ someone else typed.
A different user shared, ‘It’s 2025, babe. We’re not mean-girling and screwing over other women while we continue to fight for our rights and protections.’
Others, however ran to Anderson’s defense, claiming that they had heard her use the term in her previous videos.
After posting the video, Anderson herself tried to make amends as she awkwardly defended herself in the comments section.
‘Absolutely no shade intended! I mentioned cooking in my own kitchen simply to show that I’m at home, rather than in the professional goop kitchen. Always sending love and togetherness to all women,’ she wrote in a message, which was followed by three red heart emojis.
A source close to the situation said to DailyMail.com that Anderson was not trying to bash Markle.
They reiterated that she was simply explaining that she was filming in her own kitchen due to the Goop collaboration, and her goal has always been to support women.

Paltrow recently admitted that she hadn’t seen the duchess’ new show, but said she is not feeling any competition between the two; seen in February in L.A.
DailyMail.com reached out to both Anderson and Markle for comment.
Anderson’s supposed shade came just one day after Goop owner Paltrow gave her true opinion on Markle to Vanity Fair.
Interestingly enough, Paltrow and Meghan live quite close to each other in the small area of Montecito.
‘I don’t know Meghan and Harry,’ Paltrow divulged to the magazine.
‘I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all,’ she continued. ‘Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie.’
The actress admitted that she hadn’t seen the duchess’ new show, but said she is not feeling any competition between the two.
She told Vanity Fair, ‘When there’s noise about certain women in the culture, I do have, always, a strong instinct to stand up for them.’
The mom-of-two added that she embraces bringing Markle, and others, into the wellness and lifestyle space.
‘I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes,’ Paltrow said.
‘I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try,’ she continued.
