Kristi Noem’s ‘Utterly Reprehensible’ Migrant Prisoners Video Sparks Fury

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem sparked anger Wednesday with a video that she recorded during her visit to a notorious high-security El Salvador prison, to which President Donald Trump’s administration has removed migrants to the United States that they allege are gang members.
Noem stood in front of some of the facility’s detainees, who were behind bars and semi-dressed, and warned people thinking about entering the United States via unofficial channels: “This is one of the consequences you could face.”
“First of all, do not come to our country illegally,” Noem said. “You will be removed and you will be prosecuted. But know that this facility is one of the tools in our toolkit that we will use if you commit crimes against the American people.”
On X, formerly Twitter, Noem said “we will hunt you down, arrest you, and you could end up in this El Salvadorian prison.”
The video was condemned on social media as “the sickest shit I have ever seen in my life,” “utterly reprehensible” and “fucking disgusting.”
Many commenters argued that everyone deserves due process ahead of being removed from America.
