Luke Littler and Prem stars introduced with 18ct strong gold darts after nine-darters
Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Rob Cross have all been presented with solid gold darts after hitting perfection in Premier League darts
Oche ace Luke Littler was last night presented with 18ct solid gold darts for hitting an incredibly rare nine darter last week.
The set is worth a whopping £30,000 and three were handed to The Nuke and fellow players Luke Humphries and Rob Cross.
Humphries and Cross both achieved the rare feat on a memorable night in Brighton earlier in March, while Littler hit the 19th perfect leg in the Premier League ’s history en route to victory in Cardiff last week.
BetMGM’s lucrative prize can be won multiple times during this year’s league campaign, meaning the trio are all eligible to win a second set – or even more – if they can repeat the special finish during the remainder of the tournament.
World Champ Luke Littler said: “To hit a nine-darter on the big stage is always special but to do it in a final against Michael van Gerwen was even more memorable.”
World number one, Luke Humphries, added: “It’s an amazing prize and when we were told about the gold set of darts by BetMGM, I said I’d love to win them.
“It’s something prestigious to remember my first TV nine-darter with.”
2018 World Champion, Rob Cross, added: “We’re all striving for perfection but nine-darters are so hard to come by. I’ll treasure the gold darts as a great memory of my nine-darter in Brighton.”
UK Director at BetMGM, Sam Behar, said: “We set this initiative up to reward the world’s best darts players for achieving the rare feat of hitting a nine-darter and it’s fantastic we’ve already seen three in just seven weeks of action.
“The £30,000 custom-made set of 18ct solid gold darts are up for grabs for any nine-darter hit during this year’s Premier League, so there’s no limit on how many times the likes of Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Rob Cross can win them.
“Based on the action we’ve seen so far, there’s every chance we’ll see a few more over the next couple of months.”
