Even the canine seems embarrassed! Rude girl is slammed for giving her pooch a seat on a packed London tube in morning rush hour – leaving different commuters standing
Passengers were left fuming after a woman let her dog rest on a seat while travelling on a packed London underground.
Taking to social media platform Reddit, an unhappy passenger shared an image showing the unnamed woman sitting on the tube as her pup sits on the seat beside her.
‘This Ms prioritised her dog getting a seat’, the post said.
‘Is this not getting out of hand? Shocking how much people lack empathy in this city sometimes.’
There were around five or six people standing on the tube as the dog remained seated, according to the post.
Hundreds of Reddit users have been quick to comment on the post, with most of them agreeing that the woman should have seated her pet on her lap or on the floor.
‘I would just ask her to move the dog if I needed the seat. In an ideal world she would’ve seated her dog on her lap or in-between her feet but here we are’, one user commented.

A woman has been slammed for not giving up her dog’s seat on the London underground during morning rush hour

TFL states that dogs are allowed to travel on the underground and overground, and says that owners should ensure their pets do not disturb fellow passengers
A third user commented: ‘Unless the [dog] has bought a ticker, he can sit on her lap.’
Others made light of the situation, however, and seemed un-fussed about the dog taking up a seat on the train.
‘The little man looks like he’s having a rough morning’, one user said, while another commented: ‘Sorry but I just can’t get outraged by this, I mean LOOK AT HIM such a good [boy]’.
According to Transport for London, dogs can travel for free on the underground and overground as long as they are kept on a lead or in a carrier, but station staff could refuse dog owners entry if their pooch seems to be misbehaving.
The TFL website also stresses that pet owners should be considerate of other passengers, saying: ‘It is important for pet owners to ensure that their animals do not disturb other Underground users. This includes keeping pets close and under control at all times’.
TFL also says that ‘since some people may have phobias or allergies to animals, it is crucial to be aware of and respectful towards other passengers’.
However, TFL does not directly specify whether dogs are allowed to sit in seats.
