But Neville admitted that goalkeeper Raimond van der Gouw used to leave him feeling especially sheepish.

Van der Gouw, who celebrated his 62nd birthday on Monday, played for the Red Devils between 1996 and 2002, making 61 appearances and lifting multiple honours, including the Treble in 1999 as backup to Peter Schmeichel.

The Dutchman boasted a ripped physique and maintained himself during his retirement. Neville shared a snap of the Dutch keeper looking in the shape of his life on Instagram.

The Sky Sports pundit said: “Me and Butty [Nicky Butt] are nipping to the toilet to get stripped!”

Butt replied to his former team-mate’s post with a simple message: “59 FFS,” he fumed, in respect of the buff keeper’s then age.

The three stars were playing in the ‘Legends of the North’ charity match which saw United legends take on a team of Liverpool icons.

Van der Gouw left United in 2003 to spend a season at Upton Park with West Ham, but he didn’t make a single appearance.
