Huge earthquakes ‘foretold in Bible verse’ they usually level to our ‘final days’
A tremor hit around 62 miles northeast of the main island of Tonga just days after a massive earthquake thousands of miles away in Myanmar – and it’s got people worried
A huge earthquake struck near the Pacific Island of Tonga leading to an urgent tsunami warning being issued – but some claim the incident has been foretold in a Bible verse.
The tremor hit around 62 miles northeast of the main island, according to the US Geological Survey. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre issued an alert saying hazardous waves could occur at coasts located within 185 miles of the epicentre.
Tonga is made up of 171 islands with a population of slightly more than 100,000 people, with most living on the main island of Tongatapu. The country lies along the active Tonga Trench, which is one of the most seismically active areas in the world. No reports of damage were immediately available after the ‘quake.
Melbourne’s Bureau of Meteorology said there was no tsunami threat to Australia. They took to X so say: “No tsunami threat to Australia from magnitude 7.0 earthquake near Tonga islands.”
The earthquake comes after a huge ‘quake struck the South East Asian country of Myanmar, which has left locals scrambling to move rubble and rescue their buried loved ones.
Countless people are buried and more than 1600 have been killed.
But people have been quick to point out that these quakes were supposedly foretold in a Bible verse, amid a warning about the last days.
In Matthew 24:7, the disciple warns the last days will bring “earthquakes in one place after another.”
Luke 21:11 says: “There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.”
According to the Bible, these events detail a period in human history called “the conclusion of the system of things,” or “the last days.”
The Jehovah’s Witnesses say : “Jesus’ prophecy, including what he said about earthquakes, matches the events we see taking place in our day.”
It points to Luke 21:31, which states: “When you see these things happening, know that the Kingdom of God is near.”
But it reassures believers with Isiah 32:18, which suggests when God’s Kingdom rules over the earth, God will prevent natural disasters, including earthquakes, from harming people. Social media users are also expressing concern that humanity is approaching its last days.
One X user said: “This generation is sitting in the season of the Endtimes! #JesusAboutToAppear.”
