Jesy Nelson shares replace after emergency process to save lots of unborn twins
Singer Jesy Nelson appeared in high spirits with her partner as they shared the update with fans from the hospital and said that they were in a ‘blessed’ situation to make the video update
Jesy Nelson is pregnant with twins and has shared some news in a video update, saying she has had an urgent procedure to give her unborn babies the ‘best chance of survival’. This comes after Jesy and her partner Zion Foster, 26, told fans earlier this month that their unborn twins have a life-threatening condition.
The 33-year-old said she was rushed to hospital but confirmed she is still pregnant with the twins and had some ‘amazing news’ to share.
But the two were in high spirits as they shared: “Hi guys, so we just wanted to give you an update because we know it’s been a while. First of all we want to say a Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing and strong mums out there. And secondly, we are still in hospital, so I’ve been recovering.
“But, we have some amazing news. The TTTS has cleared up, the operation was a success which is just absolutely incredible. We are so, so, lucky to have the most amazing doctors. Basically, the situation that we’re in now is my cervix is very, very, short, so I can’t leave the hospital because my waters could break at any point and I’m still very, very, early.”
She added: “So yeah, I can’t leave the hospital until I’m a certain amount of weeks. Every week we’re praying that the babies stay in my belly but yeah, we are just so grateful that they are still here and they’re still growing strong and we’re just so grateful.”
Her partner added: “We’re in such a blessed, blessed, situation to even be able to make this video and share this good news.”
He said he has decided to run the London Marathon for Twins Trust after her worrying pregnancy.
Jesy had previously said that having identical twins comes with “complications”.
She said that she’s been diagnosed with pre-twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, meaning that her babies share a placenta, which could lead to potential health problems.
The NHS described the condition as resulting “in an imbalanced blood flow from 1 twin (known as the donor) to the other (recipient), leaving 1 baby with a greater blood volume than the other. TTTS affects 10 to 15% of monochorionic twins and can have serious consequences.”
After going to the hospital for a check-up Jesy was told she had to have a procedure to give her babies the “best chance of surviving.”
She said in the initial video: “Unfortunately the symptoms have got worse so we now have to have … they have to perform the procedure, which is obviously not what we wanted to happen.”
The singer added: “But it’s necessary because it’s gonna give our babies like the best chance of surviving. So yeah, we’re just waiting to go in. And we’re just hoping and praying for the best really. I feel gutted. I feel absolutely gutted because I really was hoping that we wouldn’t even be in this position.”
She had asked fans to “pray for us”.
