Major King Charles well being replace after hospital keep following most cancers remedy

An update has been released on the health of King Charles following his admission to hospital last week.

It has been revealed that the King is preparing for a usual working week, it is understood, after spending time in hospital last Thursday for side effects of his cancer treatment, reports PA. Charles spent a restful weekend at Highgrove and is expected to have a number of engagements this week including investitures at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.

He is also expected to carry out regular state duties and private meetings, as well as preparations for the state visit to Italy with the Queen. On Thursday (March 27), King Charles returned to hospital after experiencing “temporary side effects” as part of his continuing medical treatment for cancer, Buckingham Palace said at the time.

The hospital admission was due to the side effects of cancer treatments

On Thursday morning, he attended the London Clinic, where he was treated for an enlarged prostate in January 2024. His stay in hospital was brief, as the Palace then shared an update that he returned home shortly after.

In the statement, Buckingham Palace said the King returned to Clarence House the same time but that he received medical advice to reschedule his planned engagements for the next day (Friday, March 28). The King was due to meet ambassadors in audiences at Buckingham Palace on Thursday afternoon, but these were postponed.

The statement read: “Following scheduled and ongoing medical treatment for cancer this morning, the King experienced temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital.”

“His Majesty’s afternoon engagements were therefore postponed. His Majesty has now returned to Clarence House and as a precautionary measure, acting on medical advice, tomorrow’s diary programme will also be rescheduled.

“His Majesty would like to send his apologies to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result.”

The King previously had to cancel all royal engagements due to his illness

Last year in February 2024, the King revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer. While at the time the type of cancer was undisclosed, he was said to be undergoing treatment, which is supposedly still going.

After undergoing treatment out of the public eye, he returned to public-facing duties in April while still undergoing weekly treatment.

Charles has recently had a busy run of engagements, including a reception for media, a visit to a soil exhibition, and is due to make a historic state visit to Italy in just 10 days’ time.

The monarch, who came to the throne following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, has continued to play a role on the world stage. He recently appeared to delight US President Donald Trump as the 47th president was invited on a second state visit to the UK, amid tensions between the US and its allies.
