Luke Littler and Phil Taylor face off within the ‘match of the yr’ – however there is a twist
Luke Littler and Phil Taylor have finally met to see who has the steadiest hand – but they haven’t faced off at the oche when both were at Target Darts HQ
Luke Littler and Phil Taylor have finally pitted themselves against each other months after their first meeting.
The Nuke, 18, and The Power, 64, are the two biggest darting forces of their respective generations – and their clash has been tipped as the most anticipated match of the year. Target Darts have brought the pair together, but not to play darts.
In a video shared on April 1, the pair are given lengthy introductions before taking their seats for a game of Jenga as they tested who has the steadiest hands under pressure.
The clash, with commentary and full production, started with Taylor: “It’s hard work with one hand,” he joked as Littler giggled in the background.
“This is worse than playing in the final,” Taylor added as he struggled for every block, while Littler removed them with ease.
And it was The Power who knocked over the tower and lost the game after just under four minutes.
Following his victory, Luke Litter said: “I knew that I was going to have to be at my very best to block out the noise and knock over such an incredible opponent.
“Phil is such a towering player who has set the bar so high in his amazing career, so it feels great to have kept a steady hand and secured a win against a true legend.”
Phil Taylor added: “It was a high-stakes match. I thought I might’ve had the edge with experience, but fair play to Luke, he held his nerve, and I crumbled!
“He really knows how to take his opponent down, piece by piece. I’m sure we’ll continue to see him make the right moves and reach new heights.”
The face-off took place at Target Darts’ HQ in Essex, where the pair also helped Target to create “the leading darts products of the future”.
