Notorious UK gangster’s foot troopers fly to Dubai to save lots of below assault empire
Those involved in recent Edinburgh firebombings and shootings were reportedly tracked down in Dubai after they posted pictures of them ‘drinking champagne in the back of Bentley’
Mark Richardson’s foot soldiers have reportedly travelled to Dubai to carry out revenge attacks as the notorious Edinburgh gangster tries to cling onto his empire.
An inside source said his foot soldiers travelled to the city to track down and attack thugs they thought were involved in recent Edinburgh firebombings and shootings. Multiple people were reportedly jumped just hours after they posed for Instagram pics drinking champagne in the back of a Bentley, it is understood.
Kingpin Richardson was furious after businesses reportedly linked to him were firebombed and multiple homes were targeted by masked gunmen as part of an onslaught of revenge attacks for an underworld heist.
He is currently confined to HMP Loss Moss and is reportedly powerless, but it’s been claimed his associates are “planning something”.
A source told Edinburgh Live: “A couple boys out in Dubai got a serious kicking after posting pictures on Instagram with bottles of champagne in the back of a Bentley and a few hours later they were tracked down and attacked.”
Apparently Richardson is fuming that he’s been portrayed as weak, and one of the people involved in the Edinburgh attacks was among those targeted.
Two homes were shot at in Niddrie and Pilton last month, and later associates of the gang boss abandoned their homes to stay in the city’s hotels.
A salon in Leith, a warehouse in Musselburgh and a lock-up on Old Dalkeith Road, were all firebombed during the night.
The alleged new boss coordinating the attacks, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is believed to be overseeing them from his Dubai bolthole having fled the country in 2022 and he has been described as “cold, calculated and intelligent”.
The 31-year-old was allegedly a top boy in one of Scotland’s most infamous football firms and was brought before the courts over some match-day trouble, but he has reportedly left the group after fearing his rising profile may attract attention.
Meanwhile police Edinburgh have launched a major investigation after a spate of incidents in recent weeks that include firearms being discharged at multiple properties.
Police are working with detectives, specialist and divisional officers trawling CCTV and making door-to-door inquiries in impacted areas to trace those responsible and reassure the public.
Roadside vehicle checks and increased patrols have also been taking place in areas such as Ferry Road, Niddrie and Pennywell.
