ITV takes stand in studio based by Peaky Blinders pair and behind hit Guy Ritchie sequence The Gentleman

ITV’s production arm has acquired a majority stake in the maker of popular series such as Guy Ritchie’s Netflix hit The Gentlemen.

ITV Studios paid an undisclosed sum to take control of Moonage Pictures, the independent studio behind the action-comedy starring Theo James.

The studio was founded in 2018 by Peaky Blinders producers Will Gould, Matthew Read and Frith Tiplady.

The London-based group also produced an adaptation of Nancy Mitford’s novel The Pursuit Of Love, starring Lily James and teenage thriller A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder.

It made a £13.9million loss for the year to March 31 2024, according to its most recent publicly available accounts.

Tiplady said yesterday: ‘We can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.’

ITV Studios managing director Julian Bellamy said: ‘Will, Matthew and Frith have built a formidable scripted production company.’
