A Newcastle fan has gone to extreme lengths to get a permanent memory of the club’s Carabao Cup triumph over Liverpool.

Newcastle beat the Reds 2-1 at Wembley last month, with Dan Burn and Alexander Isak scoring the goals to end the Magpies’ 70-year wait for a domestic trophy.

Burn’s bullet header on the stroke of half time set Newcastle on their way, and one fan has decided he never wants to forget it.

A video posted by Brian Levitt from Lev-ink Tattoo shop shows the fan has got a QR code tattoo on his calf. Once the code is scanned by a phone, it takes the user to a clip of Burn wildly celebrating his goal with his Newcastle team-mates.

Underneath the code is the message ‘It’s the boy from Blyth’ – a reference to Burn’s hometown which is just a short journey away from St James’ Park.

However, rival fans haven’t been particularly impressed by the memento, and have found a way to ruin it.

One supporter wrote on X: ‘Everyone mass report the video and get it taken down so the QR code doesn’t work.’

The brutal comment got over 17,000 likes, suggesting fans are on board to scupper the Newcastle fan’s bizarre idea by getting the YouTube video removed.

The QR code tattoo comes off the back of an incredible fortnight for Newcastle after their upset win over the Premier League leaders.

Newcastle’s players partied with their fans at Box Park in the hours after the final, before the club organised an open-top bus parade that took place on Saturday.

Approximately 300,000 fans lined the streets of Newcastle to catch a glimpse of their heroes, with Ant and Dec joining the players on the bus.

The celebration party finished with the team greeting their supporters on stage at Town Moor.

Club legend Alan Shearer hailed Newcastle’s achievement in an emotional speech where he also paid tribute to his late father.

Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes then stole the show by singing an x-rated chant about arch-rivals Sunderland.

Eddie Howe’s men return to action tonight for the first time since beating Liverpool, as they host Brentford in the Premier League.
