Cheapest Grand National 2025 resort costs as prices double for Aintree Racecourse punters
Punters hoping to visit Aintree, the UK’s largest race course, for the Grand National face a whole new unexpected challenge outside of the racing – finding a place to stay
The price of lodgings around the 2025 Grand National has skyrocketed, doubling in some cases – with new research showing some prices have increased 100% compared to the weeks before.
This weekend will see tens of thousands of spectators from all over the UK and beyond flock to the renowned Aintree Racecourse. They’ll be there to witness 34 of the best horses compete for the ultimate accolade – The Grand National. However, securing accommodation for the event outside of the race course is a different challenge altogether.
MyBettingSites has done the legwork for you and found some shocking results. Analysing over 2,000 accommodation listings on both sites. The aim was to determine how much prices spike during the festival compared to the week before and after.
All listed accommodations were within a 20km radius of Aintree, with dates spanning from April 2-6. These were then contrasted with the average prices for four-night stays on the same days of the week in the weeks preceding and following the Grand National (March 26-30 and April 9-13).
The search parameters were set for two adults. According to the findings, a four-night stay near Aintree (and its surrounding areas, including Liverpool) between April 2-6 on Airbnb costs an average of £811, marking a 123.87% increase from the week prior to the festival.
A similar stay booked through Booking.com averages at £850, which is 60.45% more than the week before the festival.
It turns out that a four-night stay near Aintree (and surrounding areas like Liverpool) during the Grand National festival will set you back an average of £1,256.
That’s a whopping 76.61% increase compared to the week before.
One of the more budget-friendly options on Airbnb for the Grand National fest (April 2-6) was a private room with a shared bathroom 8km from the Aintree racecourse, going for £159.
On the other end of the scale, the priciest Airbnb listing was an entire 2-bedroom home just 2km from the Aintree racecourse, setting you back a cool £4,692.
If you’re hoping to stay right by the action in Aintree, you might be out of luck. All accommodation within 2 km of Aintree Racecourse is currently marked as unavailable on Booking.com.
However, Airbnb still has four options up for grabs, ranging from £1,637 to £2,573 for a four-night stay during the Grand National festival.
