Erling Haaland ditches protecting boot as he suns himself in Spain with sizzling WAG
Erling Haaland is currently recovering from an ankle injury and has been ruled out for a number of weeks, with the Manchester City striker spotted using crutches in Spain
Manchester City’s talisman Erling Haaland has been snapped out and about, ditching his protective boot but still leaning on a crutch as he works his way back from an ankle knock.
The Norwegian was caught on camera soaking up the Marbella rays alongside his missus, Isabel Haugseng Johansen, and their youngster who was born late last year.
After landing awkwardly during a crucial FA Cup quarter-final win against Bournemouth, Haaland’s been ruled out for five to seven weeks.
Still, City have kept the ship steady, bagging a triumph over Leicester with Jack Grealish and Omar Marmoush stepping up to find the net while the main man’s off duty.
The 24-year-old hitman looks to be taking it easy with his family, as he was spotted kicking back in sunny Spain. City’s top goalscorer was just making use of one crutch in his right hand as he manoeuvred and there was no sign of additional support being required for his ankle.
Chilling in a laid-back Nike tee and shorts topped off with a Supreme baseball cap, the striking star was every inch the chilled ace, reports the Mirror.
Before City beat Leicester, boss Pep Guardiola spoke about Haaland’s expected recovery timeline, admitting the squad would need a switch-up sans a like-for-like sub.
He said: “Sometimes these kind of things happen. With all the injuries we’ve had this season, we’re so sorry for them and for Erling as well.
“The doctors told me it will be between five and seven weeks. We don’t have another player with his specific skills or qualities, we know that, so we have to adapt.”
Haaland boldly stated “I’ll be back,” on social media as he kicked off his injury rehab journey. His Instagram post was capped off with a picture of him triumphantly raising crutches and followed by the succinct promise paired with a muscle bulging emoji.
City’s goal machine has netted an eye-watering 30 goals in just 40 games this season, with 21 blasts in the Premier League alone. Haaland sits just behind Mohamed Salah in the top scorers’ table.
With Haaland potentially benched for up to seven weeks, City’s last league fixture is a trip to Fulham on May 25, while they gear up for their Club World Cup opener on June 18.
