Donald Trump’s bizarre ‘obsession’ with one quite common on a regular basis phrase
US President Donald Trump has given MAGA a new meaning, he no longer seems to want to Make America Great Again as much as he wants to Make America Groceries Again
Donald Trump has been mercilessly mocked after appearing to become obsessed with the word “groceries”.
The Orange Manbaby has been dubbed a ‘babbling fool’ online after his rambling “Liberation Day” speech earlier this week.
During his bumbling speech, in which he announced a raft of tariffs, he went on a bizarre rant which included boasting about: “An old-fashioned term we use: Groceries.”
He went on: “It’s such an old-fashioned term but a beautiful term: Groceries. Groceries. It says a bag with different things in it.”
His words led to ridicule on social media, with one user joking: “Thank you Trump, I never knew that, lol. We’re not in 1913.” A second mocked: “We learn new things every day.”
Another quipped: “Make America Grocery Again?” While a fourth said: “Wait until he hears the phrase ‘grocery store’, you know, a place with stuff in it where people get their ‘groceries’.”
One user suggested his next speech will see him tell Americans: “Another old-fashioned term we used to have—shoes. You wear them. On your feet. Incredible.”
And it’s not the first time he’s got derailed when talking about groceries as an old clip of an interview he gave after his election victory in November has resurfaced.
One person joked: “This is how I used to write essays in the sixth grade when there was a word count minimum.”
Trump, who once branded himself a “very stable genius” in a trademark Twitter rant during his first presidency, went on a bizarre rant about the word during a sit down chat with NBC.
In the clip, he says: “I won on groceries. Very simple word, groceries. Like almost, you know, who uses the word. I started using the word. The groceries.
“When you buy apples, when you buy bacon, when you buy eggs, they would double and triple the price over a short period of time.”
After that clip was shared online, one person fumed: “How is he such a freaking simpleton? Everyone uses the word groceries except a man baby who’s never grocery shopped in his life.
“And groceries are going to go up even more and screw farmers and us over just like he did his first term. He’s so incredibly stupid.”
Trump was accused of “gambling with the world economy” as his tariff plan sparked economic chaos and fears of a global recession on Wednesday, leading to almost £2 trillion being wiped off global stock markets.
