Sick freak makes use of AI to terrorise 20 girls with faux bare pics as he plasters them on-line
Brandon Tyler, from Essex, used sophisticated AI software to manipulate images of at least 20 women, into appearing intimate, before posting them on online forums alongside explicit captions
A twisted man who used AI software to make fake nude images of women, before posting them online, has been jailed for five years.
Brandon Tyler, 26, of Braintree, Essex, is believed to have targeted at least 20 women by grabbing their pictures off social media and using sophisticated deepfake technology in order to make them appear naked. He would then share them online without their knowledge or consent.
One victim described feeling “violated and shocked” after finding out that photos of herself had been spread on the internet.
“All I could think was that everyone else would think it was me,” she said. “It was traumatic, and the impact on my mental health was immediate.”
Tyler’s despicable actions were uncovered when one woman spotted a fake image of herself on an online forum in May last year, at which point she contacted Essex Police. A full investigation was launched into the horrific practice.
Investigators traced 173 posts made by a specific user between March 2023 and May 2024, featuring a mix of fake and real intimate images taken from social media, often alongside sexually violent captions.
The account was eventually linked to Tyler, who was arrested. He made no comment during police interviews.
Tyler was charged with 33 offences, including 15 counts of sharing intimate images for sexual gratification and 18 counts of harassment without violence. He pleaded guilty to all charges.
Three women gave statements detailing the horrific emotional and professional toll of the abuse.
One, who was already suffering from post-natal depression, described discovering the fake images of herself as making her illness “so much worse,” and worried that her colleagues and her boss had likely seen them.
“It felt like my world had shattered,” she said.
Another spoke about how the incident had completely destroyed her trust in people and left her with a crippling fear of men. “I felt stupid and embarrassed. I lost weight, I lost my relationship, but I won’t let him win.”
Judge Alexander Mills condemned Tyler’s actions as a shocking example of “toxic masculinity” and jailed him for five years. He has also been placed on the sex offenders’ register and hit with an indefinite restraining order.
Detective Constable Ben Stammers, who led the investigation, said: “Tyler subjected these women to a vile campaign of abuse. Essex Police will not tolerate this kind of behaviour. We will pursue offenders with the full force of the law.”
