Boy, 15, dies after being hit by automobile exterior McDonald’s in horror collision

A 15-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car outside a McDonald’s in Bradford.

The tragic incident happened down Bradford Road in Eccleshill on Friday at 10.45pm. The boy was rushed to hospital with “very serious injuries”. Sadly, he died today (Sunday) at 12am.

The car that hit him was a VW Golf. The driver is reported to be a 35-year-old man who stopped at the scene. He has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and drug driving and as of Saturday, remains in police custody.

The police are calling on people who may have any information on what happened. Detective Inspector Paul Conroy of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team, gave a statement about the incident.

He said: “A number of enquiries remain ongoing into this very serious incident which has resulted in a 15-year-old male tragically losing his life.

“We are working to support his parents and are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the black VW Golf or teenager just prior to the collision taking place.

“We would also like to speak with anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist enquiries.

The boy is yet to be officially named.

It comes after a man appeared in court on Saturday morning and was remanded into custody after being charged with murder of a 16-year-old boy who was killed after having his “throat slashed” in broad daylight.

Alfie Franco, 20, appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of a 16-year-old in Huddersfield, and an offence of possessing a knife in a public place. Police are still investigating the stabbing that took place on Ramsden Street in Huddersfield at about 2.45pm on Thursday.

The victim, who police have now identified as Ahmad Mamdouh Al Ibrahim, received a single wound to the neck and died later in hospital from his injury. Franco was charged overnight and detained custody ahead of this morning’s appearance.

A man and woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on police bail. Inquires remain ongoing by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

On Friday, Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Damian Roebuck said: “This is a tragic incident where a young man has lost his life as a result of a knife injury. We have a team of dedicated detectives who are at the scene and investigating this fatal attack.

“Our initial investigations do indicate it was an isolated incident, and local neighbourhood officers are carrying out reassurance patrols in the area. I want to thank witnesses who have come forward so far and would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to help our enquiry to please come forward.” Read the full story here.
