The two tragic victims of a caravan fire that took hold in the early hours of Saturday have been identified for the first time today (Sunday).

Following the devastating news of the deaths of a 48-year-old man and a 10-year-old girl at Golden Beach Holiday Park in Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire, the victims have been named as father Lee and his daughter Esme. A GoFundMe page set up in their memory has raised more than £3,000 so far, with the funds going to support their family.

The page describes Lee and Esme as “two peas in a pod” who were “both happy go lucky people who loved life”.

The full statement on the GoFundMe page reads: “Unfortunately on the morning of the 05/04/2025 a fire broke out taking the lives of both Father Lee and Daughter Esme, just ten years old at their holiday home within Ingoldmells, Skegness.”

It continues: “Lee and Esme were two peas in a pod, both happy go lucky people who loved life. They were and forever remain adored by Genette, his oldest daughter Paige and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting them.”

The page also invites people to lay flowers beside The Sandancer, PE251LW, on the morning of 06/04/2025, and announces plans for a charity night to celebrate the lives of Lee and Esme, with details to be shared at a later date. All contributions will go to Lee and Esme’s family.

Lincolnshire Police were summoned to a caravan park at approximately 3.53am on Saturday, sparking an investigation into the cause of a fire that broke out there, reports the Mirror.

The force is “keeping an open mind” as they delve into the incident, with Crime Scene Investigators present at the scene on Saturday.

In a statement, Lincolnshire Police confirmed: “We are very sad to confirm that two people have died following a caravan fire at Goldenbeach Holiday Park, Roman Bank, Ingoldmells.

“We were called at 3.53am today (April 5) to a report of a caravan fire at the holiday park where two people have tragically lost their lives. Their next of kin have been informed and will be supported by specially trained officers.

“Fire and Rescue crews attended from Skegness, Wainfleet, Spilsby and Alford. There are two crews still at the scene and fire investigations are on-going.

“We have Crime Scene Investigators on site, and we are carrying out inquires to determine the exact cause of the fire. We are at the very early stages of our investigation and as such we are keeping an open mind.”

The owners of the holiday park extended their “deepest sympathies” to the families of the victims. They expressed in a statement: “On behalf of everyone at Golden Beach Holiday Park we would like to send our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families and friends affected by today’s tragic events.

“We would like to thank all the emergency services for their help and continued support. We ask for patience and privacy whilst they carry out their investigations.”
