Chelsea switch information: Victor Osimhen ‘desires Stamford Bridge transfer’ with goal set to signal contract
Chelsea could fall into a Champions League place this season with Enzo Maresca’s stuttering side in pole position to secure a top five finish in a huge boost to their summer transfer window hopes
Chelsea remain in pole position to finish in a top five spot in the Premier League and secure Champions League football next season.
Enzo Maresca’s team are stuttering towards the finish line after a 0-0 draw away at West London rivals Brentford on Sunday. Results elsewhere saw the chasing pack close in but the Blues still hold the cards.
A return to Champions League football would be a major boost for Maresca’s summer spending plans. And it could help them finally land one of their long-term targets.
Here, the Daily Star Sport looks at the latest Chelsea transfer news.
Victor Osimhen
Osimhen has reportedly set his sights on finally completing a move to Chelsea in the summer.
The 26-year-old was on the verge of joining the Blues last summer but a financial agreement was unable to be reached with Napoli, with Osimhen joining Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal.
According to Football Transfers, the Nigerian wants to join Chelsea this summer as his preferred destination over Manchester United, who have been heavily linked.
Osimhen is said to be available for a fee between €75-80 million (£64m-£68m), due to a release clause in his Napoli contract.
Kepa Arrizabalaga
Bournemouth are said to want to sign on-loan goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga permanently in the summer.
The 30-year-old shot stopper joined the Cherries on loan and has expressed his happiness playing for the club.
According to the Mirror, Bournemouth are understood to be keen on keeping Kepa and would be prepared to pay a credible fee to secure his signature.
Nico O’Reilly
Chelsea could see their pursuit of Manchester City youngster Nico O’Reilly thwarted with the Cityzens reportedly set to offer the 20-year-old a new contract.
O’Reilly, who started for City in the 0-0 derby draw against Manchester United on Sunday, was the subject of interest from Chelsea in January, with the Blues seeing a bid rejected.
City are reluctant to let the versatile youngster leave, and according to The Sun, he is set to sign a new £25,000-a-week contract at the Etihad.
