Two useless after airplane crashes at UK racetrack: Public requested to keep away from space as probe launched
Two men have died after a light aircraft crashed at the Darley Moor racetrack in Derbyshire.
Derbyshire Constabulary said the incident occurred at about 11.30am today at the racetrack near Ashbourne.
In a statement, the force added: ‘Two men have died after a light aircraft crashed at Darley Moor racetrack.
‘Emergency services remain at the scene, and we ask that the public avoid the area at this time.
‘Family members of the two men have been made aware and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
‘A file is being prepared for the coroner.’
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) said: ‘An accident in the Ashbourne area of Derbyshire involving a light aircraft has been notified to the AAIB.
‘An investigation has been launched and a multidisciplinary team of inspectors are on their way to the accident site.’
